Moving Along With the Times Challenge

Morning all.

It's time for a new challenge at Moving Along With the Times.

This week our theme is

No Designer Paper
So we want you to NOT USE any papers for this week's challenge...
you can create your own patterned background using distress inks or stamps, or you could layer up card, emboss card, use die cuts, images etc. anything as long as NO PAPERS!!

And here is my card. I was asked to make a Christening card earlier in the year and wanted a classic look for the card so I simply used the Regal Frame embossing folder as my base. I've used the Mo Manning digi for the image which I've cut out using Floral Ovals, some Memory Box Precious hearts, pearls, ribbon and we're done. Perfect for the occasion.

That Craft Place Challenge

Morning all.

It's time for a new challenge at That Craft Place

This time our theme is

Hallowe'en

I have made a hanging - using a paper plate!! Using large circle nesties I cut a circular band to go round the outside of the plate. To cover I cut lots of Marianne Designs rolled flowers. The bats and the ghosts were cut using the Cricut and the webs are a Cheery Lynn die. The netting is from a bag of oranges (or something) and you can't actaully see it from the photo I don't think but I actually used the dried glue stringy lines as dust... I could have used actual dust I suppose but I quite liked the glue effect!

Rockin' (but not around the Christmas Tree)

Afternoon from a very wet and windy Glasgow. Now I was supposed to be having some peace and quiet this afternoon with all the boys going through to Edinburgh for the Hibs v Aberdeen game but sadly Scott didn't feel up to it so Andy went by himself and the boys stayed here! To be honest, if the weather is as rubbish through there as it is here I'm glad Scott didn't go.

So I went to the SECC on Thursday for the craft show and went back again today (but only very briefly as I had the boys) - and I was really inspired when I came home on Thursday but was out Thursday night so wasn't able to do very much.  Last night was Crafty Night and I got to the Cabin and was completely lacking in any inspiration :(

This is a card my friend asked me to make for her kids to give to their Dad.  It's quite hard making a card for other kids' parents - I know what Andy and the boys like but it's harder knowing what other folk like!

Anyway, this is what I came up with. I used the Kenny K Anime Rocker stamp and teamed it with the Dienamics tshirt and I found a wee guitar in some stash I bought at the SECC in March.

Totally Papercrafts Challenge

Morning all, it's Friday and that means it's time for a new challenge at Totally Papercrafts

This week it's my turn to set the challenge and I have chosen the theme

No Squares Allowed.

We're sponsored this week by Squigglefly.

Now I was full of lots of grand plans for this card (which I might still use so not telling what they were!) but I was at the SECC for the craft fair yesterday and by the time I left just after 2 I still hadn't actually made a card! So I came home with the intention of getting a card made before Craig got back from school as Scott goes to afterschool today. However, just as I had made myself a cup of tea the phone rang and it was the school saying that Scott wasn't well and could I go for him. They were worried cos he was crying and the girls in the office remarked that he must be unwell as he's not a child to make much of a fuss and they'd never seen a Moffatt boy up at the office unwell!

So I went for Scott, gave him some medicine and he settled down on the couch with a blanket and promptly fell asleep so I had my chance to get a card done! I used a new set of stamps I had bought from Inkylicious and as I have borrowed the lovely Sandra's circle Nesties I decided to make use of them and make a circle card.

I cut two circles (and scored the back one to enable the card to stand). I stamped round the edge with the wee wishy* stamp and used the big wishy image which I stamped first and then stamped again without reinking and then stamped the sentiment on the side. Simples!

*yes, I know that's not their real name but that's what they're called here!

Mid Month Inspiration for Christmas at Sweet Stampin'

Morning all.

I'm here with some mid-month inspiration for Christmas At Sweet Stampin'

A wee reminder that this month our theme is

Card For a Male

Our sponsor this month is My Mum's Craft Shop.

I decided to try something a wee bit different - instead of just doing the front of the card I cut a whole section off the front and decorated the inside instead!

I'm not sure this is going to be a card for either of the boys but I wanted to make sure the card I did was specifically for a male!

Challenges I'd Like to Enter

Santa's List - Stampin Up
Ticket - Tim Holtz
Son - from a Docrafts set

Brown Sugar - Stampin Up
Cherry Cobbler - Stampin Up

Addicted to Pain....

No, don't worry, I'm not actually in pain. I was just reliving memories of last night! Went to see Alter Bridge at the Hydro last night who also had Shinedown and Halestorm on the programme. It was a fab night :)

A few weeks ago I was asked to make a gothic wedding card for a couple who had got married in New Orleans. Well I was stumped! No idea what constituted a gothic wedding card - apart from maybe red black and purple... I looked for some images but I didn't like anything I saw and I was tempted to use the Tiddly Inks couple but give her a red or purple dress. Then I decided to abandon the idea of an image completely and make a card that looked like a corset. As you do ;)

I made a criss cross card and the insert just has the names of the couple and the date of their wedding.

Anyway, I have it on good authority the couple loved their card so that's the main thing!

And I couldn't leave you tonight without sharing some Alter Bridge with you - the new single Addicted to Pain :)

Thanks for dropping by today.

Dream Valley Challenges

Hello again. Please scroll down for my Hobbycutz DT card.

It's time for a new challenge at Dream Valley Challenges

This fortnight our theme is

Hallowe'en

I don't do Hallowe'en so these challenges are always a struggle for me so I went with something a little different - I used a set of Waltzing Mouse stamps (which are really meant for Christmas) but coloured the candy canes in in Hallowe'eny type colours. Then I found the Paper Smooches You Rock sentiment and it made me laugh so I decided to put them together!

This week our theme is

Anything But a Card/Home Decoration

We're sponsored this week by Hobbycutz and Crafty Sentiments.

I've used Kaye for my project and I've made it in to a notebook. It was going to be a shopping list notebook but as I never actually use a shopping list it's just a notebook now.

My beloved Dad died. I can't believe it's been that long. There isn't a day goes by when I don't think of him.

I was going to do a scrapbook page for today but I just ran out of energy yesterday, so here are a couple of photos instead.

Dad is the one on the left in this photo. Under the bunnet which is clearly too big for him. I'm not sure who the other two children are though.

And this is probably one of the last photos I have of him.

Back soon with my Hobbycutz DT card.

This week our theme is

Monster Birthday

Our sponsor this week is Sir Stampalot and our monthly sponsor is The Ribbon Girl who are offering a £10 voucher to the monthly winner.

I have gone along the theme of having monsters on my card. I cased this from something I saw on Pinterest - stupidly I saw it but didn't actually pin it so I don't actually know whose card it was!

Sugar Bowl Challenge

Morning all. It's time for a new challenge over at the Sugar Bowl.

One lucky winner of this challenge gets to choose  4 pieces of super sweet Sugar Nellie rubber candy
(or 6 pieces, if there are over 100 entries)
from

image

Make a card or other craft project using a Sugar Nellie image and this prize could be yours….

This month we're trying something a little different and we'd like you to use your First Sugar Nellie

Now I'm not entirely sure that Little Miss Attitude was my very first but she's certainly among the first. I just love her.

This is the last of the cards I made for my friend's daughter and this one was the one for her sister to give her.

This card just kind of grew and grew. First I decided to use Little Miss A with the cupcake card and the sentiment (cos it reminded me of Eve!) and then I decided I'd emboss the top of the cupcake to make it look like icing, then I thought I'd make a paper case for the cupcake and finally I decided on two sorts of ribbon! You'll be pleased to hear that the card went down very well with both Eve and her sister :)

We're sponsored this week by Saturated Canary and Krista gave the DT some images to play with.

I've used Muriel for my card. I must admit although I set this challenge, it was  a real challenge to me. I wanted to stick so much more on the card but I decided to go with the die cuts as my embellishments!

Splat!

Hello!

Thought I'd pop by this evening - I'm not at the Crafty Cabin tonight as I had a meeting to go to so I actually went yesterday afternoon. Got loads done (still loads to do though before we go away on Monday). Have I mentioned we're off to Blackpool on Monday for half term?! Looking forward to it.

This is one of the cards I made for Scott's friend - this one is from her Mum and Dad. I showed Lynne the image and she thought it was perfect for Eve! Two of Eve's favourite colours are yellow and green so that's what I went with and when I was putting the 8 on the card I thought that the flower punch looked like a big splat and as she's aiming at something.....
