It's time for a new challenge at That Craft Place

This time our theme is

Sentiment

I have two things to share today - I made the first and then the lovely Lisa brought out her own range of stamps Ditzie Designs - available from That Craft Place so of course I had to create something else too!

So this first is a heart I bought - I was inspired by looking at some decopatch although I didn't actually want to do that! I simply painted with some acrylic paint and stamped the Visible Image sentiment with some contrasting blue ink and then stamped the Grunge Flourish round the outside of the heart.

And this is my second offering today - this is a frame I bought from Lisa's shop ages ago with the intention of doing something else with it and when I started off I was actually going to cover up the frame with some paper but I decided just to stamp round the edge of it because I thought it looked to pretty bare to cover up! I used the Grunge Flourish again.

Morning all.

It's time for a new challenge at That Craft Place

This time our theme is

Hallowe'en

I have made a hanging - using a paper plate!! Using large circle nesties I cut a circular band to go round the outside of the plate. To cover I cut lots of Marianne Designs rolled flowers. The bats and the ghosts were cut using the Cricut and the webs are a Cheery Lynn die. The netting is from a bag of oranges (or something) and you can't actaully see it from the photo I don't think but I actually used the dried glue stringy lines as dust... I could have used actual dust I suppose but I quite liked the glue effect!

Morning all.

It's time for a new challenge at That Craft Place

This time our theme is

Baby

I was asked to make a baby shower card recently and I wasn't really sure what to do - didn't want to put a baby on the card and then I discovered this large Woodware Baby stamp which also had the sentiment shower in the set! Perfect. I stamped and paper pieced the word rather than colouring it in.

Looking at the card now, there's a couple of things I would do differently but the customer was happy so that's the main thing!

And here is my creation for the day. I was a bit stuck tbh, wasn't sure what I was going to go with and then I remembered this wee Kraftin Kimmie image and Alice Cooper's song Poison came in to my head.... and so the card was born - the DCWV paper was just perfect and I've added a wee bottle of poison too (well purple stickles)

Morning all.

It's time for a new challenge at That Craft Place

This time our theme is

Stitching - Real or Fake

Now when I started off making this it was going to be a Christmas card... but it was crap so it ended up in the bin. Then I came across this image and decided to let my imagination run free.... and it did kind of.... so we have real stitching not fake, a feather which started off life as a a lilac one and has been inked and some shrink plastic-ed feathers..... I had such fun making it as I had been on such a downer after failing at what I set out to do and I actually do like this. Wonder who I can give it to though...

Mostly everything used to make this card is available from That Craft Place - the feather stamps I used are Hero Arts but Lisa stocks a wonderful Visible Image set called "Free Your Imagination" which also has feathers in it.

That Craft Place Challenge

Morning all.

It's time for a new challenge at That Craft Place

This time our theme is

Flowers

Easy peasy. You can interpret this how you wish, but pop over to That Craft Place and you will be amazed at the floral creations on there!!

My creation is very dull in comparison to my teamies but I wanted to make something special for two special people who got married yesterday. This is for Karen and Drew. Now, unfortunately they won't actually see this yet, cos I forgot to post it on time, but it's on it's way to them now.

I've used the heart nesties in different sizes to create a hanging and I've embellished them with white die cut flowers (from the Dienamics Layered Rose set), added some white ribbon and some pearls and it was done. I hope the bride and groom like it when it eventually appears. Sorry Karen, if you're reading this!!

so you could go red white and blue, with an American theme... something to do with Will Smith perhaps

And here is my card. As soon as I saw Krista at Saturated Canary bring out this Bikini and Burgers image I knew it would be perfect for this challenge.

I eat burgers and french fries too. I wear flip flops and coconut sunscreen. I have messy hair. I run and I rock a bikini. I have flaws and a beautiful smile. I like barbeques and loud music too. I love the sun on my skin. I am not perfect but I am a real girl.

Hello again!

Now I might not have used any punches on this card but I have kinda gone die crazy cos I've used 3.... the paper people die, the opulent oval nesties and the sentiment strips!

The paper I've used is paper that the lovely Lisa sent me in a DT pack so I don't actually know what it is - the ribbon came in the same pack.  This card has now winged it's way back down to Eastbourne for Lisa to display in her shop.

Morning all.

It's time for a new challenge at That Craft Place

This time our theme is

For A Man

Now normally I don't struggle with men/boy cards but this time I just didn't know what I was going to do and I had vague ideas about a lot of things and then I hit on the idea of doing a canvas. I used a friend as my inspiration as he's just got a new job and will be moving away - although I must add that he looks nothing like Edward!

I stamped round the corners of the grey card and the grey paper with a kind of grungy flourish from Stemplegelde - was wishing I had had the Visible Image grunge flourish to do it with... maybe next month! 

I printed some of the lyrics from the Pink Floyd song Breathe and grunged the edges of that too. Perhaps Edward himself could have done with a spot of grunging too but it's a bit late now!!

Crafty Sentiments Designs New Release Day 2

Morning all.

Welcome to the second day of peaks of the new stamps available from midnight (just a few hours to go) from Crafty Sentiments. I can hardly wait, I really need them all. Check out the Crafty Sentiments Inspiration blog for more details.

Today's image is called Summertime, isn't she just gorgeous? I'm saying Summertime with my tongue very firmly in my cheek cos I've got a horrible feeling that Tuesday was it... and it's back to winter again.

I've got to be honest, this is a bit of a Murphy's Law card - cos if it could go wrong with the card, it did... and I was stressing I wouldn't get it finished but there you go, I managed!

I've paper pieced her dress and just echoed the gingham with some ribbon and card candy. I think it looks vaguely summer like... maybe. I've forgotten what summer actually is.
