So much for that extra hour

I was awoken early this morning by a poorly sick Scott :( And then Craig got up at 6.15am thinking it was 7.15am. He was despatched back to bed! Scott has spent the rest of the day on the sofa, no Sunday School, no rubgy :( He's perked up though and seemed to be ok when he went to bed, although he has just been up again asking for water and was a bit upset. Fingers crossed he's ok. Couple of cards (although I have to admit not very exciting ones) to share today. They were for a couple of folk at work and I've used a couple of LotV die cut squares. Somehow it felt like cheating!

Seconds out, round 2

Another day, another trip to the SECC... I went today cos I wanted to meet up with Debbi, Queen of the Promarkers! She was demonstrating at a couple of stands today so I took the opportunity of going to see her. Took Craig along too as he's been doing a school project on Scotland and was given Aberdeen to do some research into and Debbi very kindly gave him some info on Aberdeen, so he wanted to say thanks. Sandra also came along with her daughter Emma as she'd been ill on Thursday on the original trip. The kids behaved very well and were given some freebies by the lovely Mark at the Lili of the Valley stand. We also bought them some Jumping Clay and a sticker kit. So here's a photo of all of the things I bought over the last couple of days. With that **** promarker at the front.....

Enjoy the rest of your Saturday - remember to put those clocks back tonight ;)

Look what I bought....

Yesterday at the SECC was fab. Got there early, ran into (almost literally) Ali and her hubby Andy and the lovely Cathy was with them. Was soooo excited to meet Cathy at last. Then at High Noon the Sugar Nellie Massive met outside RS McColl's and then took over a large table in the hall for lunch. What a great time - I could have stayed chatting all day. Met lots of lovely friends who I have chatted to online for ages - Lorraine, Gayle and Fiona and it was fabby to put faces to names. I hope it won't be too long before we can all get together again. However, before we met for lunch Cathy DARED me to buy something pink!! (so I double dared her). Now I *was* going to buy a pink TH DI pad but this pink (Cerise) promarker was cheaper so I went for that instead. I have been informed however that was the wrong pink to buy. But you know me, all pinks look the same ;) Going back again for a wee while tomorrow to meet Debbi Glennie and to see her demo promarkers or flexmarkers - maybe she'll point me in the direction of a nice pink eh?! One more sleep!

Till the SECC!! I can hardly contain my excitement and to quote a dear friend *squeal* If you're around the SECC tomorrow at 12, I'd avoid the RS McColls. There will be a whole bunch of Sugar Addicts meeting there. And tomorrow I get to meet Cathy, Kath and Fiona for the first time :) AND I'm going to make a return visit on the Saturday just to meet Debbi :) All of this is going to make a lovely end to a crappy week! I thought I was going to share something else with you today but it will have to wait till Monday (as it's a birthday card for someone who might see it!!) Found this half made card when I was tidying up. It's from the mini convention weekend and it's Maggie Murray's card (although yet again it bears little resemblance to the original as I lost the flowers I had stamped that were to go on it!!) Image -Greenhouse Garden, Oval All, Four Frames, SU Cardstock - Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Baja Breeze, Whisper White, SU Ink -Baja Breeze, Soft Suede, SU Embellishments -Pearls, Baja Breeze seam binding ribbon, SU Tools - Big Shot and Square Lattice embossing folder, Oval punch, decorative label punch, SU Hugs.Susan xxx

Tank trapping (again)

Still haven't managed any crafting. Got so much to do, and not the inclination to do it!! Tomorrow is another day though. So I am going to try really really really hard to have something new to show tomorrow. In the meantime, here is something I made a couple of weeks ago at Lorraine's. Isn't it fab! If only I could remember how to do it I would make another. Outside Outside but open slightly Inside.. 9 weeks....

and it will be Boxing Day!!! Better get a shifty on on the Christmas cards. At least I'm thinking about them in October last year, I thought about them on 17th December last year. Not sure anyone got one last year... Maybe I'll start tomorrow. Kids still off, or maybe I should do something with them tomorrow. Don't you just love procrastinating... In the meantime - here's a wee calendar I made a couple of weeks ago for a crafting session at Lorraine's!

Playing Catch Up!

You can tell we're back from holiday - the washing machine has been going non stop all day. Unfortunately the house now resembles a Chinese Laundry. When I was at the Erasure concert a couple of weeks ago, my friend asked me if I could do a birthday card for one of her Facebook friends. I said yes, then realised that I'd have to do it before we went to Blackpool. Well, I always, well, only ever, work better under pressure. Asked for the card on Thursday night, made and delivered by the Saturday.... I've used the Mo Manning image "Checking Facebook".... thought it was appropriate. And then I found this dp in my stash with the little bird and I thought of Twitter... Hoping the recipient likes it!! Challenges: Crafty Catz - birthday Totally Papercrafts - layer upon layer >Image - Mo Manning, Checking Facebook (coloured with Promarkers) Sentiment, Stampin Up (from a retired set) Cardstock - Night of Navy, Marina Mist and More Mustard, Stampin Up Embellishments -Marina Mist ribbon, SU Hugs.Susan xxx

Friday 21 October 2011

We're home!

and we had a fabby time in Blackpool. I have to say that at the start of the week I was despairing of the weather. The rain sounds a lot worse in a caravan! Didn't keep us in though, we still kept busy. Went to the Pleasure Beach on Wednesday - it wasn't raining but it was FREEEEEEEEZZZZIIINNNGGGG!!! Kids had a ball at Nickelodeon Land which has opened up inside the Pleasure Beach. Then yesterday we went to Madame Tussauds. The boys weren't keen to start with but they loved it in the end, thought I'd share a few photos with you. See if you can spot the 5th and 6th members of the Beatles ;) My wee rock dude! He wants a real set *rolls eyes*, he's wanted a real set for a long time. Maybe we should get him one.
Me and Dame Helen. She's shorter than I imagined but I have to say, I know she's a waxwork but she's got a very scary look about her!
Haven't done any crafting this week but I do have stuff to share tomorrow!

A present

Forgot to share this with you. Look what my lovely friend Lorraine made me. Isn't it gorgeous? Think she had a real nightmare making it as I don't do pink and pretty ;) I think it's fab though. Hugs.Susan xxx

Don't faint

I have spent some time tidying up* this week. *crafting stuff, not housework. I found lots of half finished things in bags so I have finished some of them and am scheduling posts through the week so that you don't miss me too much ;) This is from the Technique Tornado day a couple of weeks ago - unfortunately while I was tidying I didn't come across Lorraine's perfectly designed card recipe, and I couldn't remember what had been done with the ribbon - found them later and the ribbon and bow should have been up the left hand side of the card! Never mind. This is using the heat and stick technique (I'm sure that's what she called it) - embossing powder that became sticky when melted and then the glitter which stuck to the sticky embossing powder. Simples! Hugs.Susan xxx

Sunday 16 October 2011

Almost packed

3/4 of the family are packed. *drums fingers* Just waiting on someone looking out his stuff so that can go in the case too. Kids are excited to be going to Blackpool again. They're desparate to go to Nickelodeon Land!! I shall try and check in again through the week - I may even schedule some posts, if I get time after finishing the packing! Hugs.Susan xxx

Sweet Stampin Challenge!

Here it is, my very first DT card for Sweet Stampin and this time the challenge is Masculine! Phew, thank goodness it wasn't girly and pink. A nice gentle way to ease me in.... We're sponsored this week by the wonderful Di's Digi Downloads who are offering 5 fabulous digi's to the lucky winner.

Image - Little Wizard and sentiment, LotV Cardstock - Chocolate Chip, Pool Party, Stampin Up (rest of card and paper from stash) Tools - Bigshot, Label Nesties

The sweeties have done a fabby job creating masculine themed projects this week, hop over to Sweet Stampin and see and then go and leave them some bloggy love. (although I seem to have been the only person not to be terrorised by masculine themed cards -fingers crossed for no pink otherwise I will be terror stricken) Hugs.Susan xxx

Wednesday 12 October 2011

I am freezing....

Just thought I would share. I am very very cold. Hoping that someone might put the kettle on soon lol. Another card from the Technique Tornado class at the weekend..... Now I'm sure you've worked out by now that if there is one colour I don't like it's pink..... This is the first card we made on the day - took me the rest of the day to get over it you know. This was using faux metal technique. I think it looks fab. When I started crafting I used to emboss all the time but when I did this on Saturday it was the first time in a long time I had done it. I may do it again soon. Have loads of ideas buzzing round my head so I'm hopeful of getting some creating done in the next few days. Off to see Erasure tomorrow night so might not be around tomorrow night! Hugs.Susan xxx

Technique Tornado Day

Yesterday I went along to my friend Lorraine's Technique Tornado day in the Campanile Hotel in Braehead. Had a lovely day and it was great to take my mind off things for a few hours. We made a few projects - a few of which I am sharing today but some I didn't finish so you might see them through the week. This is made using the retiform technique - I shall be trying this again! This one is using masked circles - and Lorraine's favourite stamp set (French Foliage!) and perhaps a bit of distressing...
This one was designed by Jen.
I had another one to share but I appear to not to have transferred it to the laptop. Never mind, that's something else to share. Wish me luck with my interview tomorrow. Once I have that out the way I hope to resume normal service. Hugs.Susan xxx

Tuesday 4 October 2011

I cannot believe I forgot to mention...

that Strictly is back! Woohoo :) I am currently blogging while watching ITT. Don't you just love my multi-tasking. I've had a lovely day today, firstly had a phone call from my lovely friend Cathy, then I met Cass for coffee and Yvonne joined us later and I've had my hair cut. Now if I can just get some crafting done tonight it will be pretty near perfect. Oh, I forgot, it's the final of the Great British Bake Off tonight, so I might not get any crafting done.... Anyway, here's today's offering. It's City Girl. The flowers actually should have gone on one of the scrapbook pages that I made at the SU weekend but I don't have a photo for the page yet and I found them in the bag so I thought I'd use them on the card.

Challenge - Papertake Weekly - Anything Goes Image - City Girl, Funky Kits, En Francais, French Foliage - both Stampin' Up! Cardstock - Soft Suede, Baja Breeze, SU Paper - Elegant Soiree - SU Embellishments -Pearls, SU Tools - Big Shot, Fancy Flowers Die, SU, Scalloped Oval and Oval Nesties Hugs.Susan xxx

Sunday 2 October 2011

A card. At last!

and not from last weekend! Threw this together last night (while multitaksing again) - Scott was going to a party today and of course, as usual, I left things until the last minute to do. Well, actually, now I think on it, I had actually coloured some of Peekaboo in during my lunch break the other day at work. And you will notice, there's a bit of pink in it (you have no idea how painful that was for me).

Challenge The Sugar Bowl - Kiki's sketch (although I have clearly not gone for an Autumn theme) Paper Sundaes - Lots of Layers Crafts4Eternity - Anything Goes CES - Pretty Girls Image - Peekaboo, Funky Kits, Alphabet, Penny Black Cardstock - Pool Party, Marina Mist, Pretty in Pink, Stampin' Up! Paper, Lime Zest from My Minds Eye Embellishments - Balloon brads from stash, Baja Breeze seam binding ribbon, SU We've had my aunt here all afternoon and for dinner which has been nice - because Scott was going to a birthday party he didn't go to rugby, although in any event it was cancelled because of a waterlogged pitch and swimming lessons have finished so it was quite a relaxing Sunday for a change. Now I have a couple more images coloured in and ready to go on cards so my intention is to get some more crafting done tonight, although I may just spend the evening on pintrest looking for inspiration.... Hugs.Susan xxx

Apologies

If you're looking at my blog and it looks a bit odd. Started playing about with it but didn't like it so have tried to change it back the way it was without much success! As it's now 1.30am I think it's time that I. Stepped. Away. From. The. Blog. Back tomorrow to sort it, hopefully!! Night night. Hugs.Susan xxx
