Mixu and Ted

Hello.

Have you had a nice day? Craig and I went in to town today as Andy and Scott went off to the football. We had a lovely time and had an early dinner in a World Buffet place. 

Tonight's card is a christening card I was asked to make for a baby last week (well actually the baby is nearly 1 so I didn't want to use a tiny baby image!) so I used this fab Bunny and Teddy stamp from LotV. They also have the characters the other way round but as a baby Craig's favourite toys were Mixu the rabbit and Teddy and Mixu is bigger than Teddy so that's why I went for this one!

Evening. I hope you're enjoying your Friday evening. I thought I'd pop by and share the card I made for Cass - it was her birthday on Monday but I wasn't going to the cabin until last night so have been unable to share!

I've used an Uptown Girls stamp but I've cropped it down a wee bit. I paper pieced the dresses and mug and if anyone ever tells you that's a good idea then it's not, especially for the girl on the right of the mug!

I've used Billie is 10 from Ladybug Crafts Ink for today's card. This was made for a friend's daughter whose birthday party we went to a couple of weeks ago.  I actually made the card in the time between returning from the Sunday School trip and going to the party so I hope you're impressed! 

I went with shades of brown and cream and if I had had a bit more time I might have used some Glossy Accents on the wee chocolate heart decorating the cupcake.

Continuing the School Theme

Morning all.

It seems like a good idea to share all of the school cards so that next year (unlike this) I will not be sharing cards that were made a whole year (and more) ago. 

So this is one from this year. My friend Sandra's daughter started high school this year and this kinda looks a wee bit (if you squint slightly) like Emma. Well, she wears glasses and has blonde hair! I've kept it simple but I've paper pieced her book.

The Birthday of a Genius

We had our annual Sweet Stampin' meet at Edinburgh Zoo on Saturday and while we were there we celebrated the birthdays (which were actually yesterday) of Abi and Cass.  Now Abi is known as our resident genius and some time ago I bought this fab Tiddly Inks image which I had never used so Abi's birthday was the perfect opportunity to break it out!!

I could have used the Rosie starts school image I have but I discovered this image on Digi Stamp Boutique on special offer and as the little girl I was making a card for was called Maisie and this image is called Maisie starts school it seemed appropriate.

Some News!

Hello. Have you seen the news at the The Sugar Bowl.? 

We are currently looking for a couple of newbies to join us..yes that's right, we've had a break and we are back in time to celebrate our 9th birthday next month so perfect timing!! 

With loads of new stamps coming we thought it was time to restart the challenge and promote the new range of products that will be available....they are fabulous!!

As you know, Funky Kits is the home to all Sugar Nellie both rubber and digi and with the range growing we need a fab team to keep you continually inspired! 

We will still continue to have our daily inspiration over on the Sugar Nellie blog with promotions etc on there, but we feel there is still a place for the challenge blog aswell.   

So on to the important things...We do have some requirements for any newbies joining our team and if you feel you can meet the requirements then this may be for you!! 

 

• You must be able to commit to a 4 month term initially - this will be reviewed at the end of the term 
• You must be able to complete projects on time and add them to our DT page 
• You must be post your project on your own blog each month 
• You will make comments on the entries to the challenge on your allocated numbers each month 
• You must be able to take a good photo of your project  
• You must have an active blog and Facebook account - the DT stuff is managed on our Facebook page

We want newbies that love all things Sugar Nellie and they will be great at promoting the products through their own work.  So if you meet the requirements and are interested in joining the team then what you need to do to apply is follow the instructions below: 

• make a card using a Sugar Nellie stamp (rubber or digi) 
• upload it on the linky thing on the Sugar Bowl Blog
• post your card on your own blog linking to the DT Call 
• display our DT Call badge on your post aswell

A New Adventure

Hello!

Bit of a late one today - no idea where today has gone. The only thing I do know is that the ironing I did this morning is all still lying on the bed as after I had finished I didn't have the energy to put it all away!!

Hello.

Today I'm sharing with you a card a friend asked me to make for his wife because, although they've been together for a long while they only got married last year so this was the first birthday he was able to call her his wife!

I know the cards I made went down well as Claire posted this one, and the one from the children, on Facebook on the morning of her birthday saying that they were the best birthday cards ever so I must have done something right ;) 

I've used Martini Melissa from Simply Betty and I've paper pieced her dress - I used the spots on the dress as my inspiration and the two wee triangular brads I found when I was sorting some stuff out and I thought they went rather well.

Paisley Has A Prezzie

Morning all.

Well, it's now two days since the Commonwealth Games finished. I am bereft - can we have them back now please Australia? We've changed our minds and want to keep them.

So today I am sharing a birthday card I made for my friend. I went fairly CAS with this AND you will note doodling too...... I've paper pieced Paisley's top and skirt - I love this colour combo and these were the only pieces of this MME paper pad I had left so I thought using them this way was better than not being able to use them at all. And like the Commonwealth Games I miss this paper too!!
