I've used Beach Ball for my card and the sandcastle and sentiment from the Teddy Jack set. I found this bit of unloved paper in my stash box and thought it looked vaguely sea like and then decided I'd tear some sand coloured coredinations card to make it look like the beach. I stamped the sandcastle on the coredinations card and used my pens for a bit of shading.

Sweet Stampin' Challenge

Morning all, it's Saturday and that means it's time for a new challenge at Sweet Stampin'.

Now I have gone for football (and one other thing) but you could go with any sport or going to the ball....

The reason I say there's one other thing is that I actually made a balls up of the card and underneath the little football button there's a little splodge of ink! Ooops.

This is another one of these cards that has been lost in a little folder on my laptop and I'm finally getting round to posting! It was a card my friend asked me to make for her niece.... last year.....

However, here she is now, Lost in Music. Love this image and think I should use her again soon.

Mid Month Inspiration for Christmas at Sweet Stampin'

Morning all.

It's time for some mid month inspiration at Christmas At Sweet Stampin'

A wee reminder that this month our theme is

Snowmen/People

Our sponsor this month is My Mum's Craft Shop who are offering a £10 voucher to the winner.

I must admit to being a bit stuck to begin with with this challenge, couldn't decide what to do as I'm still a bit snowmanned out from all the snowmen cards I made at Christmas for challenges..

So just a very simple card really, I used an old Cuttlebug embossing folder as the basis and coloured this LotV snowman. Then I decided to add the Memory Box snowflake border round the snowman, added a sentiment and some pearls and we're done.

Such a simple card I might use it for my Christmas cards so it would be great if one of you could take a note of that and remind me of this nearer the time ;)

Love to Create Challenge

Morning all.

It's time for a new challenge at Love to Create

This week our theme is

Hugs and Wishes

Our sponsor this week is Stamp Annie Thing who kindly gave us some images to play with.

I've gone for a Wish You Were Here look with my card and have used the Eiffel Tower stamp. I created my own background paper by using the Stampin Up Very Vintage wheel and stamped it in Crumb Cake. I also inked the edges of the card with the Crumb Cake ink too.

Starting to love doing cards this shape which is 5.5 inches by 4.5 inches - just for a wee change you understand but it gets me out of using 6x6 all the time!

Totally Papercrafts Challenge

Morning all, it's Friday and that means it's time for a new challenge at Totally Papercrafts. This week it's the turn of the lovely Alexandra to set the challenge and she has chosen the theme

Make Your Own Flowers

We're sponsored this week by Doodle Dragon Studios.

Now I did something for this card that I haven't done for a long long time! I got out some of my Hello Kitty Sizzix dies - this was a card I wanted to do for the boys to give my friend's wee girl. I had made cards for her mum and dad and sister to give her but I wanted to do one for the boys to give her too.

And the reasoning behind getting out the Sizzix die..... I don't have the Copics to enable me to colour another image with the red hair that I would need to do for Lucy ;)

And I can confirm that all cards went down very well with the birthday girl.

Crafty Sentiment Designs Challenge

Morning all.

It's time for a new challenge at Crafty Sentiments Designs

This week our theme is

Female Birthday

So an easy one... or not....

I have used the fab Harriet for my card which I made for my friend's daughter the other day. I am quite pleased with it even though there's you know what in it.

And this card caused a panic.... I went to colour her hair in and couldn't find my copics. Looked everywhere for the wallet they're in. Nowhere to be seen so I text Cass and asked if they were in the cabin but she said no and then even more panic ensued and I thought I was losing my mind. However, I got a text during the Apprentice from Cass to say that they were at the cabin and just hidden under something. Phew.

Love to Create Challenge

Morning all.

It's time for a new challenge at Love to Create

This week our theme is

Fairy Tale and Fantasy

Our sponsor this week is Whoopsi Daisy who gave the DT some images to play with.

I struggled getting a decent photo because of the sunshine... who'd have thunk it eh?!

I've gone very simple in an effort to use "stuff" I found when I was looking for something else! The white bird cage is actually a gold die cut but I turned it round and the square is a Craftwork Cards embossed frame but I think it works.

Dream Valley Challenges

Hello there!

While I was off on my hols one of my lovely bloggy friends shared some news with me on Facebook that I had made it on to the DT at Dream Valley Challenges and I haven't really had a chance to share that news with you before now but there you go...

So now on to the new challenge at Dream Valley Challenges

This fortnight our theme is

Fancy Folds

Two very similar cards to show you - neither have of which have been here before. I have a whole folder on my laptop of cards still to be blogged and I'm trying to get through them.

I was asked by my friend to a Ruby Wedding Anniversary card for her mum to send to friends who were celebrating at the start of the month and I emailed her a photo of the bottom card (which was made for my friend's in-laws who celebrated in February!!) and she loved it so I set about doing something very similar.

It's a criss cross type card - two 6x6 cards which I halved diagonally and then stuck the two cards together to form a pocket. I actually really like this style of card and I must do another soon.

I got the verse from a site which had free anniversary poems but sadly I can't remember which one it was!

You can see the wee tag on the bottom photo a wee bit better - I left that blank so that a message could be written.

Sweet Stampin' Challenge

Morning all, it's Saturday and that means it's time for a new challenge at Sweet Stampin'.

This week our theme is

Shabby Chic

Our sponsor this week is Bunny Zoe and they're offering a £10 voucher to the winner and our monthly sponsor is The Ribbon Girl who are offering a £10 voucher to the monthly winner.

I'm not very good at shabby chic - my friend Lorraine is so much better at this style than I am - so I was a bit concerned about the challenge. However, when I was down at Cathy's we had a chat and a look at some other cards and  a quick look through some of her stash and so a card was born...

This really is a beautiful stamp and I was going to add some colour to her with DI's but I decided, on this occasion, just to leave her the way she was.

I distressed the DP and CS and then inked round the edge with some Picket Fence Distress Stain. I also couldn't find the right shade of seam binding ribbon in my stash so I found a bit of ribbon, then wet it and scrunched it up and then held it in a little tight ball inside a bit of kitchen roll so it looked a bit more worn than the pristine ribbon it started out life as. It doesn't look bad so I might try doing that again!

Challenges I'd Like to Enter
Brown Sugar - Shades of Blue
Sister Act - Anything Goes
Cupcake - Anything But a Square

Hot. Hot. Hot.

No, I can't believe I'm saying that either. This is Scotland? This is July? Something has gone wrong!

Today I'm sharing with you a card that was ordered by my friend for her friend's big birthday (can't remember what the number was so I'm not going to guess but it was either 50 or 60).

Blanche seemed to fit the bill as did the sentiment from the Audrey Uptown Girl stamp. Bit of sophistication ;)

Good to be Home?

Well hello there!

I am back from a fab holiday in the Peak District - we have never ever been so lucky with the weather on holiday and then before we came home we spent a long weekend with the lovely Cathy and her family which was awesome. Great time, great company and lots and lots of laughs.

Today I am sharing with you the card I made for Craig to give his teacher. He saw this Greeting Farm image and thought he looked cool so he asked me to use him. I think he looks a bit sad but that's ok cos obviously Craig was leaving primary school. I've used a sentiment from the same set which seemed appropriate - See Ya Later.

I've paper pieced his cap and his sweatshirt as I didn't quite have the right shades of pen to do a school sweatshirt - a gap in my pens I feel. I may have to fill it ;)
