Yeah, yeah, I know

I said I would be earlier and here we are again, running at the coo's tail.

Been a busy old day today though. Sandra and I took the cherubs to see the Lorax at Clydebank (the lure of £2.95 tickets again!) but went by train so we were out most of the day.

Then Andy and I took the boys out for dinner and got Scott some new boots for rugby starting again on Sunday.

Thought I'd share a couple of photos of Saturday - the first is of Scott and Holly on the Sky Trail in the Zoo. My heart was in my mouth I tell you. I felt sick just looking at them!

The second photo is of a very pleased looking Scott who declared the Sky Trail was "the best thing I've ever done"....

Anyway, I am tank trapping, I know. I am mid making a card. It's just not going right though, so I'm thinking of walking away from it and leaving it till tomorrow. Maybe it will look better in 25 minutes ;)

Thanks for dropping by today. Hugs. Susan xxx

Monday, 30 July 2012

I started this hours ago... Honest.

Well, here we are at Monday again - I know, I'm kinda pushing it here... I did mean to get this done earlier but the evening has whooshed by.

We had a lovely day out on Saturday at the zoo with the Sweeties. Once I've sorted the photos I'll come back and share some.  It was great to catch up with Fi again and to finally meet Abi and Tracey (and all relevant "small" people).

Having stayed up to watch the entire opening ceremony of the Olympics and then walked round the zoo all day on Saturday the boys and I were very tired on Saturday evening so I was glad we were staying at Andy's brother's for a second night as I didn't fancy the drive back to Glasgow!

On to today's card. This is my lovely friend Sandra's birthday card. I have looked at Tiddly Inks images for ages and loved them so finally took the plunge and got some, so lots more to share now that I finally have ink for the printer :)

Challenges I'd like to enter:

The Poodles Parlour - Anything Goes
Willow Sketchie - Anything Goes
DYSU - For A Friend
Make it Monday
My Mum's Craft Shop - Birthday Girls

Thanks for dropping by today. I will try and be earlier tomorrow....

Sweet Stampin' Challenge

Morning all and it is morning as I write this. Although I am scheduling this post I have just watched the Olympic Opening Ceremony and all I can say is Wowzers! It was fab. Very emotional.

Well away from the Olympics it's time for a new challenge over at Sweet Stampin'  and this week it really was a challenge for me cos this week we want to see

Christmas in July

Now as I usually think about Christmas cards on 18th December this really was a toughie! (Don't tell Abi I said that....)

My thanks to the lovely Nat who lightened my photo for me - been having a bit of difficulty with my phone and connecting to the computer so took the photo with my iPod but the camera isn't as good as my phone!

We're sponsored this week by Di's Digi Downloads and our usual monthly sponsor is Joanna Sheen.

No new products were harmed in the making of this card! Use It Up 2012.

Image - LotV, coloured with Promarkers

Totally Papercrafts Challenge

Morning all! Today over Totally Papercrafts it's the turn of Wendy to pick the challenge and she has chosen.....

Orange and Yellow

Now I have to be honest, I struggled with this originally. I was going to do something inky and it looked crap so that went in the bin and then I went to look through my often overlooked stamps. And I found Witzy the Duck. Perfect :) Isn't he cute! And I even went a bit crazy and made an easel card with my label nesties! Go me.

We're sponsored this week by the fabulous Whimsy Stamps.

Challenges I'd like to enter:

Make it Monday

No new products were harmed in the making of this card! Use It Up 2012.

Image - Witzy, coloured with Promarkers. No idea where I got the wee letter stamps!
Cardstock/Paper - From stash

Remember to pop by Totally Papercrafts to see what fabulous Orange and Yellow creations the DT have left to inspire you.

Thanks for dropping by today. We're off through to Edinburgh tonight as tomorrow the boys and I are meeting up with some of the Sweet Stampin' Sweeties - watch out for shrieking if you're in Edinburgh tomorrow!!!

I really shouldn't have sat down

What a lovely day it's been, I hope wherever you are that the sun has been shining on you.

I ended up tidying up my craft stuff earlier as I moved something and tipped the tin of Prisamcolour pencils down the back of the book case.  I have retrieved all but one of them but it made me tidy up and I found things I had long since forgotten about.... So I have plans for later.

However, I now can't sit on one of the sofas in the living room as there is loads of stuff which was removed from the dining room sitting on it. Tomorrow's job perhaps.

I must go and take a photo of the clear dining table now for WOYWW..... what a difference from last week ;)

So onto today's card. A girl from work (well, she's still there, I'm not!) asked if I could do a card for someone else at work who likes knitting and sewing and did I have anything. I said I didn't but I would do a card anyway. Then when we were down in the garden centre at Cardwell Bay on Sunday there was a little basket of Sugar Nellie Leanne Ellis stamps (and a few Mangas) on a BOGOF... and what was there but this little image! It was meant to be.

So this is what I came up with :)

Challenges I'd like to enter:

The Sugar Bowl - Gayles Sketch
My Mum's Craft Shop - Birthday Girls
Divas by Design - Happy Birthday
Crafts and Me - Anything Goes

Image - SN, Leanne Ellis stamp, coloured with Promarkers, Sentiment, Stampin Up
Cardstock - Stampin Up
Paper - Papermania
Embellishments - all from stash

Thanks for dropping by today. I'm away to tidy some more and then hopefully get a bit of crafting done later on.

Creative Crafts Challenge

Morning all it's time for another challenge over at Creative Craft Challenges and this time the theme is

Summer Fun

Yes, I know, I can hear you laughing from here....  Much as I was tempted to go for a stamp depicting some kind of rain/umbrella/snow... the DT were given some Bugaboo images to play with as they are one of our sponsors this week our other sponsor is Crafty Ribbons.

I've used Deacon Bugs for my card today. And I'm afraid the photos aren't up to much. I also decorated the inside of the card using a wee caterpillar image too but I didn't get a great photo of him :)

Challenges I'd like to enter:

Make it Monday

Image - Deacon Bugs, Bugaboo coloured with Copics and Promarkers, Caterpillar, Dovecraft coloured with Promarkers
Cardstock/Paper - From stash
Embellishments - Ladybugs from stash
Tools - Big Shot, Sizzix Fence die

Thanks for dropping by today. I'm off to enjoy the summer (ahem) weather ;)

Candy

Stumbled across Fleur's blog today - not sure why I've never been before but I have now and have become a follower.

Anyway, Fleur is celebrating her 3rd year of blogging and to celebrate is offering candy.

While you're there have a look at her cards - there are some yummy LotV Christmas sneak peeks in there :) *wibbles*

Share It On Sunday

Wow, it's been a while since I did this but over at Sugar Nellie it's time to Share it on Sunday

This time I've decided to share some of these guys with you. I was introduced to them by my lovely friend Paul who has a Kid Robot collection! Paul and I spent many lunchtimes going to Forbidden Planet either to get one of these guys (and it's always a surprise which one you get) or to buy some comics :) I really hope he isn't missing me too much.

This first one is my particular favourite, it's from last year's collection and this is Ken the Mysterious Tiger. The rest are all from the 2012 collection.

Thanks for dropping by today. Enjoy the rest of your Sunday.

Sunny Saturday

As it stopped raining for 10 minutes we decided to have a wee day out today - ended up at Finlaystone Country Estate which was great (apart from Craig throwing himself off a swing and into a puddle of mud....)

This is a before photo.... didn't take an after one ;)

Ready Teddy Go

Well you will be pleased to know that I did tidy the table last night - there is now plenty space to work on and I did do some work this afternoon. I organised things too so might find it slightly easier to work. Or not. I may never find anything again.

And I was about to go to bed when I got a message from a friend about half price school shoes but the offer was to finish at 6am this morning... so I had to log back on to the laptop and just check it out. Bought Clarks shoes for the boys half price - fingers crossed that they actually fit them!

So today I am sharing with you a card I was commissioned to make. It was for a friend's daughters to give to their Celtic mad Dad. I was asked for a card with a Celtic shirt and a #7 on it.... I panicked slightly and then I remembered this wee cutie from LotV!

No new products were harmed in the making of this card! Use It Up 2012.

WOYWW

Just thought I'd share this today.... as it's Wednesday and time for What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday

This is the dining room table before we went on holiday. And I did tidy it up but it is an even worse state now. I should really go and tidy up. I can't actually do anything until it's tidy. I don't mind making the mess, it's the tidying up I can't stand ;)

I have decided though - I am going to tidy it now. It could be a long night.

Been to the cinema again today with the kids! Thanks to all tickets being £2.95 on a Tuesday at the Empire Cinema and the Odeon Kids Club tickets being £2.50 I have spent less than £15 on two trips to the cinema this week :) Today it was Mirror Mirror, which I have to say, wasn't bad.

Busy Day

Yesterday we had quite a lazy day - just felt I needed a day not running about visiting places like we had while on holiday. Made up for it today though....

Boys went to a holiday club in a local school (the High School that Craig will be going to next year, sniff) this morning and I had intended to take them to the cinema this afternoon. Yvonne and I dropped the kids off at the school and went for coffee and I mentioned the cinema so Yvonne decided that she would get the car from her hubby and come with us too so we all went to see Ice Age this afternoon. The kids all loved it, Scott wants the dvd.... already...

At 6pm I was meeting friends at the sports centre for our regular badminton game but one of them wasn't well and Craig wanted to come along and watch, however, he actually got to play with us and he wasn't half bad.

Then we came home and I collapsed in a heap!

I did find time in the evening to call my lovely friend Cathy, so good to catch up.

So onto a card, a bit belated I know but I didn't share it with you. This is the thank you card and gift I did for Scott's teachers. He had 2! The cards were virtually identical but as one of his teachers was retiring I made her a memory book rather than a notebook. Sadly I forgot to take a photo.

Just noticed there is a pearl missing from one of the flowers, I am sure I sorted it before Scott gave it to the teacher.

I'd like to enter the card in the following challenges:

Here Come The Boys - Tag on a Card
Hanna and Friends - Favourite Colours (blues and browns)

No new products were harmed in the making of this card! Use It Up 2012. Image - Penny Black, coloured with Promarkers and Copics, not sure where senitment is from

What to do?

This is Glasgow Fair Monday, it's the start of the trades fortnight so Andy is off for another day... although, he's gone to play golf so the boys and I are in the house.

I was full of plans to do something but it's looking kinda damp and miserable out there so not sure we will be doing very much.  Maybe the unpacking will get done at last.... Mmm, how could I make that fun?!

So I was at the Crafty Cabin last night as Cass and her family go on holiday on Tuesday, I'm afraid I wasn't that productive, although I should have been because I have loads to do.

I did manage to do a card for the Sugary Sunday SN Facebook challenge, which this week, is One For The Boys :) I'm not that happy with his hair, I tried to go for the choppy look but am not entirely convinced by it but figured if I tried to fix it I would end up binning it so it will do!

Challenges I'd like to enter:

Sugar Bowl - Gayle's sketch
Make it Monday
Creative Mondays - For Men
Incy Wincy - Dust it Off (the image is quite an old one, I think I may have used him once on Craig's birthday card a couple of years ago and then he went back in the box, the stamp, not Craig)
The Sisterhood of Crafters - Let's Hear it For the Boys

No new products were harmed in the making of this card! Use It Up 2012.

Better late than never

Time passes so quickly, well, that's my excuse but way back in March (I gulped when I saw that) the lovely Susie sent me this blog award, I am sure I thanked her at the time (although didn't actually get round to posting) but here I am now, thank you Susie! I really appreciate it.  Pop over to Susie's blog and take a look at her cards... and one of her recent cards makes me want to buy a particular stamp. I'm trying to resist..... but you know what the Borg say.... Resistance Is Futile ;)

The LIEBSTER BLOG AWARD is used to show appreciation of smaller blogs (under 200 followers)  and to help spread readership and joy.
As part of the tradition the award is to be passed along to five other blogs that have motivated and inspired
 me.
The name comes from the German meaning Dearest or  Beloved, but can also mean Favourite.

To accept the Award you must:
1. Link back to the person's blog who gave it to  you, and thank them.
2. Post on your blog.
3. Give to five other Bloggers who you appreciate and value.
4. Leave a comment on the five blogs you choose and  let them know.

So who to pass the award on to.. well, there are so many blogs I look at who inspire me so it was hard to narrow it down and each one inspires me for different reasons but anyway, these are the four (yes, I know it was supposed to be five but I decided if I waited any longer I'd never get this posted.

Thanks for dropping by today. I am off to the Crafty Cabin tonight as Cass goes on holiday on Tuesday. I need to make up my shopping list for her as she will be very near a certainy Sugary Sweet Stamp shop ;)

Trying to get back to normal

Pfft!

Still sitting in amongst stuff that needs unpacked or if it has been unpacked, put away.... Just don't seem to have the motivation to do it though. Maybe tomorrow.. or not.

So this is a card I did for my fellow Sweetie Kim whose (big) birthday it was recently. I know that she's got the card now though, so it's safe to post. It had to go all the way to America too. I'm sure she won't mind me sharing it with you - I've used one of my favourite stamps, Martini Nikki and my very favourite Stampin' Up papers, Elegant Soiree.

Challenges I'd like to enter:

We're sponsored this week by Kenny K. Now I did have a Kenny K digi or a Kenny K stamp I could have used but I kinda ran out of time in the run up to the holidays so I've gone with this card instead.

I made this card for Tracey, a Sweet Stampin Sweetie so I hope she's got it by now, I was late in posting it but hopefully the Royal Fail have delivered it by now.

If we keep digging we might reach Australia

It's our last day here. We've had a lovely time and the sun has shone for most of the time.

The boys are making plans for next year's holiday here so it must have been good.

Wednesday, 11 July 2012

You cannot be serious

Scott now thinks he is the next Andy Murray. I tried telling him he looked more like Mac (still my fave) but he just looked at me blankly! Pfft.

Creative Craft Challenges

This is a scheduled post.

It's time for a new challenge over at Creative Craft Challenges and this week the challenge is a colour one. Please use the colours......

Pink and Black

on your creations. Yes, I know, you can hear me sighing from there can't you?!

I have to admit though, I had a lot of fun doing this one! It's the first time I've tried funky hair, and while I would never ever have **** hair I think our rock chick here needed some coloured hair ;)

We're sponsored this fortnight by Stamping Boutique.

Marvellous Monday

Took a trip into Filey today and went for lunch to our favourite wee cafe called The Pines. We have been almost every year since 2008. The food is just fab. Especially the home made steak pie.
If you're ever in Filey in Hope Street then be sure to pay them a visit.
After lunch we went for a walk along the front. Sure blew the cobwebs away. But the sun continues to shine here :-)

Sunday, 8 July 2012

Yeeha

We had fun on the beach this morning and will be heading back to the cottage to watch the tennis shortly. But first we have to play in the arcades!

Saturday, 7 July 2012

Not much to say about this

The village appears to be short of a couple of idiots. These were spotted in York Castle Museum.

Friday, 6 July 2012

Rain stopped play

Unfortunately it has been very wet today. We tried to get to the supermarket and Macdonalds but the road was flooded!

Anyway, did I mention the cottage has a hot tub?! So this is where we have spent the evening after watching the tennis. If only I had a glass of Pimms! Chin chin.

Thursday, 5 July 2012

Let battle commence

Just been to the Naval Warfare show in Peasholm Park. The combined force of the Navy and tin Air Force was enough to defeat the enemy and victory was claimed.

The boys enjoyed it so much they want to go back!

Wednesday, 4 July 2012

Just keep swimming

Been swimming this afternoon which was nice. Pool was very quiet because the English schools haven't stopped yet.
However, who should we bump into in the car park when we arrived but one of Craig's school friends. They picked today to come swimming too and it turns out they are staying in the next village to us. Small world eh?
Off to forage for some food now. Starving after all that exercise.

Tuesday, 3 July 2012

Feeding animals

Of the 4 legged variety. Not the children. Although they have been fed too.

We are at Playdale Farm Park today. We've been here a few times as the boys love it.

Monday, 2 July 2012

Yum

We have been picking strawberries! And they smell and taste like strawberries should.
Looking forward to eating them with cream later.

Round Up - Part 1

Hello. Just here with a wee roundup of my  Lili of the Valley  cards and to remind you that the fabulous Christmas offer is still running.  ...
