'S'almost Sunday

I did mean to post earlier, honest. Time has just run away from me today! I was also going to tidy up the dining room table before I went to bed too but that doesn't look like it's going to happen either...

So, if the image in this card was a girl it's what I would be doing now as Andy is watching the golf. It's the Ryder Cup apparently and is also, allegedly, very exciting..........zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

This is a card I made for Andy's mate for his birthday. Unfortunately despite all the elements of it being ready, it didn't get stuck together until past his birthday so in the inside I had to stamp a belated birthday sentiment! What a numpty.

Challenges I'd Like to Enter:

Charisma Cardz - For The Guys
I Love Promarkers - A Male Theme
Tuesday Throwdown - Fall Colours

Stamps
Digi Stamp Boutique, coloured with Promarkers, Sentiment, Ladybug Crafts Ink

Thanks for dropping by today. Enjoy what's left of your *coughs* Saturday.

Totally Papercrafts Challenge

Morning all!

Happy Friday to you. It's time for a new challenge over at the Totally Papercrafts Towers and this week it's the turn of our lovely Kim to choose the theme and she's gone for.....

Pretty Pastels

Kim loves her pastels which you'll see if you pop by her blog.... however, me.... not so much. However, I am really quite chuffed with the card and I have proved to myself (and Cathy) that I really can do WOW cards.

We are sponsored this week by the fabulous Lili of the Valley and the winner will receive 2 stamps of their choice. How fab is that?

And so this is my card.... I'm afraid she had a little accident with her shoes. Well, she didn't, I had the accident but as we crafters know there is no such thing as an accident merely a design feature....

I've used Dandelion Clock for my card and coloured her in pale yellow.

So I'm hoping with this card that I have met my challenge that Cathy set me (and that she'll not think of another)

Challenges I'd like to enter

Lili's Little Fairies - White with a Hint of Colour
DYSU - Scallops
The Paper Shelter - Anything Goes
Use It Tuesday - Use Your Scraps (all the card is off cuts of Diamond White card that I use when stamping images. The ribbon was also a small piece lying unloved in a jar)
Divas By Design - Fairies and Fantasy
Simon Says - Anything Goes
Stampavie - Sparkling

Stamps
Dandelion Clock, Lili of the Valley coloured with Promarkers and Copics

Cardstock
Diamond White, The Papeterie

Embellishments
Ribbon and gems from stash

Tools
Circle and Picot Circle Nesties, Cuttlebug

Remember to pop by the Totally Papercrafts blog to see the rest of the pastel inspiration my fellow teamies have left you and then, if you've time, visit them and leave them some bloggy love too.

Thanks for dropping by today. Enjoy your Friday!

Hmph!

So much for Sunny September. Typically the weather went back to winter today given that the schools were on holiday!

We kept them amused though, we went swimming this morning then for lunch and then went to see Brave this afternoon so we've had a full day. I had been hoping to get some crafting done but that hasn't materialised. Yet. I should really do some school uniform ironing for tomorrow.

On to today's offering. I was asked to make a guest book for a friend's uncle who was retiring from the Fire Service after 30 years. I went for a very simple design. Wasn't sure the recipient would appreciate lots of embellies!

The inner pages are just a simple cream with a strip of patterned paper down the side of them. I also included a page where he could add a photo later if he wanted.

The party was on Friday so I'm hoping that the guest book went down well.

Sizzling September

Well, not quite but it is warmer than I was expecting! And most unusual for a school holiday.....

The boys and I were out this morning for our annual Dedication of the Uniformed Organisations service at church and then went straight (well, almost straight) from that to rugby with Scott and then we went straight from there to the shops. So I think a wee sit down now is called for!

Andy text me the other day from work as someone in his work had asked him if I'd be able to make an anniversary card for Thursday for her husband.  I had seen this gorgeous Tiddly Inks image and lots of beautiful cards made with it over on the Tiddly Inks Facebook group so decided that I would *have* to get it... I'm sure there's other images I could have gone for but I liked this one :)

The first photo isn't the best. I finished making the card late Wednesday night so I took the photo early on Thursday morning before Andy took it to work. I love it though, I'm really pleased with how it turned out.

Sweet Stampin' Challenge

Morning all. It's time for a new challenge over at Sweet Stampin' and this week our theme is

How Charming

Yes we'd like to see you use some charms on your card!

Typically I haven't gone down the girly route... you're not really surprised are you? No, didn't think so. I was looking through my charms (and to be honest, I don't have that many *adds to shopping list*) and found this skull and crossbones so I decided to go with a piratey theme. I even did a spot of tearing *gasps* and I told Cathy I was no good at it ;)

We are sponsored this week by Emerald Faeries who are giving the lucky winner 2 digis from their store and the lovely Joanna Sheen is our monthly sponsor giving the monthly winner £10 to spend in her store.

Phew!

What a weekend! Spent Saturday afternoon baking. With "help".... yeah, you get the picture don't you?!

And why did I spend the afternoon baking?! Well, yesterday was the Cartha Kids Rugby Festival so our cake stall needed filling. Craig would have had me keep going but I ran out of butter and, if I'm honest, energy! (and Strictly was on on Saturday evening)

This is a photo of Scott (Usain) that Craig took and I only discovered it on my phone this morning but what a great photo it is!

And this is our cake stall. Complete with the bunting that I made in the Cartha colours. The photo was taken by Gillian of Jan and Carol on the stall setting up as I was on duty at communion yesterday morning. This was also before the stall (bunting and us) got a bit battered by the elements.

Thanks for dropping by today.

Back tomorrow with my Creative Crafts DT card.

A bit late but....

Never mind.

I had fully intended to come back later on yesterday and share Andy's birthday card with you but I was out last night at a local country park with the Anchor Boys.  The boys had a fabulous time despite the rain and everyone of them caught something interesting.

Scott and I didn't get back in until just before 9.  I had my dinner and sat and watched this man win the US Open. Yes, I stupidly stayed up to watch the whole thing. And there were points during the match when I wished I hadn't but the 5th set was just tremendous and to watch him blow Djokovic away was just thrilling. I am so glad I did stayed up! (even if I am just a little bit slower than normal today) I was at one point keeping friends informed of the score but I think the last one fell asleep just after 1 and there was still a long way to go after that.

So this is the birthday card I made for Andy the other day. Bit of a change from the anniversary image I used! This doesn't look like me either though ;) you can get her from Redonkulous Designs. Isn't she just fab. Now if only I hadn't used her for a birthday card I could have done his Christmas card with this. Think he would notice the same image twice ;)

One Stop - No Floral Embellishments

Summer's Gone..

You know how I said it was here.... well, I've changed my mind. We're back to the rubbish weather!

Goodness me, what a busy day yesterday was.... Went swimming in the morning with Cass, then we went for a spot of lunch and then we went to the craft shop for a spot of shopping all of which was very successful!

Then last night Anchor Boys started back after the summer break so Scott and I were out at that and then Andy dropped Craig off for his first night at Company Section. I think Craig had been a wee bit nervous before he went but by the time he got home he was full of enthusiasm and had had a great time - although by the time Craig came home I was in my pj's and went to bed after I had heard how he got on as I was very tired!!!

Yesterday was also Sandra's wee boys birthday. He was 7 and this is the card I made for him. Not sure whether Sam liked it but his mum did!

Well, it was just going to be one card but today there's a BOGOF on boy cards as I made this card for Craig on Thursday night for the challenge because he was doing the Junior Great Scottish Run on Saturday and then of course both boys were Stars of the Week at school so I thought that perhaps I should do one for Scott too. Has Summer Arrived?

I fear it's unlikely but you just never know... it's a lovely day here today. And I have so much to do but not a scrap of motivation to do any of it - apart from possibly the card making but even then.... ;)

So on to today's card. Last week I was asked for a birthday card for sister which had a girl with big boobs and black hair.... for the next day! Thankfully Kenny K's image came to my rescue.

I have no idea whether the sister in question liked it but the customer was happy :) (and has been warned not to to that to me again!!)
