An Apple for The Teacher

Morning all.

Well,it's almost that time of year. That time of year when I start considering drinking gin early in the morning. Yes, the school holidays are almost upon us. From 1pm tomorrow the boys will be in the house for 7 weeks. Yep. Count 'em 7 weeks!!

Today's card is the first of the Thank You cards I have made for his teachers. It's been funny this year only having to make them for Scott's teachers and not for Craig's!

This is the one for his favourite teacher, and I think, looks a bit like Scott - although he's holding an apple so maybe not ;)

And Scott got his report home yesterday too, which was excellent so I am a very proud Mum!

 Thanks for dropping by today.

It's just a wee 4x4 cross over card which I used some Kaisercraft paper with and I cut the Thanks from the Shade Tree Thanks die twice so that I could offset the kraft thanks on top of the black one.

Moving Along With The Times Challenge

Morning all.

It's time for a new challenge at Moving Along With the Times.

This week our theme, chosen by Claire, is

I Do Like To Be Beside the Seaside

I wasn't sure what to go with... but in the end I was inspired by the Footprints poem.

One night I dreamed a dream.
I was walking along the beach with my Lord.
Across the dark sky flashed scenes from my life.
For each scene, I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand, one belonging to me and one to my Lord.
When the last scene of my life shot before me I looked back at the footprints in the sand there was only one set of footprints.
I realized that this was at the lowest and saddest times of my life.
This always bothered me and I questioned the Lord about my dilemma.
"Lord, You told me when I decided to follow You, You would walk and talk with me all the way. But I'm aware that during the most troublesome times of my life there is only one set of footprints. I just don't understand why, when I need You most, You leave me."
He whispered, "My precious child, I love you and will never leave you, never, ever, during your trials and testings. When you saw only one set of footprints, It was then that I carried you."

I've simply taken some shades of blue card and ripped them a bit and embossed them with Dvine Swirls. The sand is actually sandpaper (don't tell Andy in case he's looking for it!!)

And Another Father's Day Card

Hello

It's almost the last one but I can't share the last of them till the weekend - they're a bit like buses eh? Don't get one for years and then about 27 turn up all at once.

This is the Father's Day card I made for Scott to give to Andy and you'll note that I've given him a Barca hat but coloured in the letters for Hibs....  This is one of the Saturated Canary Dad 2014 images - the other one being a girl but not a whole lot of use in this house!

Monkey Business

Morning!

I hope the sun is shining where you are. It is here and according to weather report this will be the hottest day of the year in Glasgow. I bet there are people coming to the Commonwealth Games looking at the weather now thinking brilliant it'll be really warm and sunny...... can I just say that part of the standard issue of a Clydesider (the volunteers for the Games) uniform is an umbrella.....

So on to today's card. This is a father's day card I was asked to make by my friend for her son to give his Dad. Now as they're part of the Cartha family I decided to give Chester a Cartha mug (and I was hoping that Logan didn't mind being depicted as a monkey).  And for the first time in a long time Copics did not have the purple I needed so I had to break out the Promarkers!! #gapinthemarketcopics

A Feast of Father's Day Cards

Morning.

Well it's Father's Day and it's a day where I have usually sat back having made only one card (and sometimes not even that as the boys decide they want to buy one for Andy). However, this year having been asked to demo at Craft World I made lots of Father's Day cards as samples, my friend asked me to make cards for her kids to give their Dad and I also made one each for the boys to give Andy.

So I'm starting with the samples I did for Craft World and as the week goes on I shall show you the rest of them - this could be men's week on my blog!

All supplies from Craft World unless otherwise stated.

Sweet Stampin' Challenge

Morning all, it's Saturday and that means it's time for a new challenge at Sweet Stampin'.

This week our theme is

Say It With Flowers

Our sponsor this week is the Ribbon Girl.

Two cards from me today - I struggled a bit with this as I had something in my head but it just didn't quite work out. So then I made this first card at the cabin last week and then Cass reminded me of another card I had made - the second one is a  Mother's day card for someone to send to her Mum in the States, which I then adapted for a sample for Craft World.

Then when I was looking through my folder I found 2182304989* other flowery cards so you never know they may see the light of day soon too.

Come on Spain!

Hello, how are we all doing?

It's Friday, it's the weekend, it's a weekend nearer the summer hols and the footie is on, and the sun is trying very hard to shine again. Doesn't get any better than that.

Andy is away out with work mates for a curry and then they're watching the Spain v Netherlands match. I have pizza, pringles and sweets for the boys and I to share during the football too. Although maybe I should have gone with the curry option!

Today's card is a birthday card I was asked to make after someone saw the card I made for our headteacher retiring in April.  I love these papers, they're from a MME pad and I really should use them more often!
