Totally Papercrafts Challenge

This is a scheduled post, as you read this I *should* be getting ready to be on the way to our holiday cottage.

It's time for another challenge over at Totally Papercrafts and this week our hostess is the lovely Anne who this week has chosen the theme

Digi It

Yes, that's right, use a digital image on your creation. You'll be pleased to know that I read the instructions correctly this time and didn't make a card with a gardening theme.... which would have been ok I guess if I'd used a digital image!

We are sponsored this week by Digi Stamp Boutique who are offering 6 single digis to the winner.

And here we are, a plethora of cards. Well 2... The girl one was made for a work friend's daughter and the boy one was made for a friend of mine who has just graduated from Glasgow Uni as a teacher :)

Image - Grad Boy and Grad Girl 2012, Saturated Canary, Coloured with Promakers and Copics, Sentiment, Stampin Up

Day 1 done and dusted

And we've all survived....

Here I am, in the midst of packing and getting ready to go away, sitting blogging. Oops.

I have enlisted the help of the children - their clothes are all ready to go, Scott has packed his toys, books and dvds.

And I was just about to go and tackle (yet more) ironing but I thought I'd share these with you.

This is the card and gift I made for Craig's teacher. He's had her 3 times and is quite fond of her so I wanted to do something to mark the end of that time.

Cardstock - Stampin Up
Paper - My Mind's Eye (I think)

Embellishments - Card Candy, School Buttons
Tools - Tim Holtz Regal Crest Die, Big Shot

It's almost that time of year again

Yes, there's only a day and a half of school left before 7 weeks summer holidays begin. Bring on the madness....

So this week is mainly going to be catching up on stuff and packing to go on holiday on Friday. Can't wait!

This is a card I was commissioned to make. Now I was asked for a Father's Day card for a friend's dad (but from her girls) for Papa. And he likes horse racing....

At first I thought, eeek! How on earth?! But then I remembered this LotV stamp. Perfect. And then I thought, eek, how do I colour a horse!

But I checked my lovely friend Debbi's PM tuts and that helped me no end. I even emailed her the image once I had coloured it in, just to be sure! She said it was fine so I'm happy with that :)

Challenges I'd like to enter

Incy Wincy - Anything Goes

Image - LotV coloured with Promarkers
Paper/Card from stash
Embellishments - Ticket, Tim Holtz
Tools - Pink Lemonade alpha die, Sizzix, Sidekick

Thanks for dropping by today. Enjoy what's left of your Monday.

And also thanks to the folk from work who very generously contributed to a leaving gift for me (I was presented with an IPod Touch yesterday) I'm away now because even just writing that makes me want to cry again!!

Thanks for dropping by today. Enjoy your Saturday - hope you don't get washed away.

Morning

Well its finally here, my very last day with the civil service after 26 years. Onwards and upwards though.

Enough of that nonsense, it's time for another challenge over at Totally Papercrafts.  This time our hostess is the lovely Cathy who has chosen this inspiration pic as the theme for this week. You can use the colours, images on your project (or both if you really like) and food and drink images are fine too :)

We are sponsored by the fabulous Lili of the Valley who are offering 2 stamps of the winners choice.

So here's my card! I've gone for the colours for my card.

Challenges I'd like to enter:

Crafts and Me - Anything Goes
Divas By Design - To Die For
Scrapalicious USA - Summertime
Charisma Cardz - Summer

Almost Wednesday ;)

And another lovely day here! Had to go into school this morning but when I'd finished I decided I would go and do a spot of shopping. My aunt gave me a voucher for my birthday and I still haven't spent it. Of course the law of sod dictates that you don't see anything when you have money to spend on it so I still haven't used the voucher!

No card today but a photo which shows what I was watching tonight at the cinema. Cass, Sandra and I went to see Rock of Ages. It was fab. Now, I am not a Tom Cruise fan by any means but actually he was great. Honest!

Well tomorrow sees the start of my very last week at work. After 26 years in the civil service I leave on Friday (I won't bore you with the details but I have taken a voluntary redundancy package) I actually wish I could just fast forward the week to Friday at 4pm when I'll be in the pub :)

What a lovely day

no, honestly, the sun has been shining here all day. Unfortunately with a nice day the ironing basket seems to expand to gargantuan proportions!

Sorry I didn't post yesterday but I always find Father's day a little difficult although I did think about posting a photo of my lovely Dad but I just never got round to it as it was such a busy day.

Andy was still away yesterday so the boys and I got up, went to church, came home, went to rugby where Craig and I helped out on the cake stall. This is a very very bad job ;) The cakes look soooooo tempting. I have to admit to having one of Jan's chocolate chip cookies which was fab. And they must have been good - Scott had 3!!!!

After that we went to Asda as I'd promised the boys we'd do some baking for Daddy for Father's day. Well, by the time we got home, had dinner etc there was no time before they were having showers so I ended up baking by myself after they'd gone to bed. The cakes turned out ok though, even without their assistance.

So, onto a card. This is a stamp I won during a blog hop over at Sugar Nellies (and while I remember, apologies for not Sharing on Sunday). I inked her up. Coloured her face and hair and then she stayed in a poly pocket! I used her for the SN Facebook challenge last week which was dies and/or doodles. See, I'm getting more practice on the old doodling front!

Challenges I'd like to enter:

The Sugar Bowl - Sketch
Creatalicious - Anything Goes
Bunny Zoe - Girls, Girls, Girls
Sentimental Sundays - Summer Fun

Image - To and Fro, Funky Kits, coloured with Promarkers, Sentiment from All In The Family set, Stampin Up
Cardstock/Paper - From stash
Embellishments - Flowers, Pearls, from stash
Tools - Framelits, Stampin Up

Anyway, this week we're sponsored by Stamp & Create who are offering a $20 gift certificate to the winner and our monthly sponsor is Joanna Sheen who is offering a £10 gift voucher for the winner.

Totally Papercrafts Challenge

Goodness doesn't time fly. Can hardly believe that it's Friday again and time for another challenge over at Totally Papercrafts.

This week's sponsor is Wild Rose Studio who are offering 2 stamps to the winner of their choice.

Our hostess this week is Kim who has chosen the theme

Raining Cats and Dogs

We want to see - cats, dogs, rain. You can use any or all of them in your card. You can see that I've gone for the rain and the cat option. Now the more observant among you will notice that that cat does not in fact go with the girl.    That's because I didn't check the instructions for the challenge before making the card.... Kim actually meant us to use Cats or Dogs on our creations and I had ignored that and concentrated on the rain option! So she very kindly changed the wording of her challenge!

Challenges I'd like to enter:

Craft Your Passion - Anything Goes
Passion For Promarkers - Lots of Layers
Divas By Design - A Summer Theme (I'm from Scotland, this is summer!!)
The Paper Shelter - Anything Goes

No new products were harmed in the making of this card! Use It Up 2012.

Image - Gorjuss Girl, PI, Cat from Purrfect Friend, Funky Kits coloured with Promarkers, Sentiment, Inkadinkadoo
Cardstock - Crumb Cake, Stampin Up
Paper - My Mind's Eye
Embellishments - Wee metally type pearls which reminded me of rain!
Tools - Oval Nestie, Swiss Dots Embossing Folder, Big Shot

Remember to pop over to Totally Papercrafts to see the rest of the cards the DT have made for your inspiration (and you can see that they were good and followed instructions...)

Thanks for dropping by today. Enjoy your Friday.

Well that wasn't very clever

Went in to check on Scott and switched his cd off. Only he wasn't sleeping, his eyes were closed and he was on the verge of sleep but just not quite there...

So he asked me to lie down with him and listen to the cd. So I did. And got up an hour later..... and now I'm not sleepy any more!!! I had a list of things I was going to do tonight do and haven't managed to achieve anything. Never mind, there's always tomorrow at the Crafty Cabin.

This is something I made a couple of months ago and hadn't got round to sharing. I'm not particularly happy with it (probably because there's no coloured in image on it). I like the colours but that's about it. My friend Lorraine is so much better at doing cards like this than I am!

All products Stampin Up

Image - Creative Elements
Cardstock - Very Vanilla, Soft Suede
Ink - Early Espresso
Embellishments - Crumb Cake Seam binding ribbon

BOGOF....Cathy Wallington, look away now.

No, I've not started working in Asda! I'm talking cards! I made this card for a wee girl's party that Scott had been invited to at the start of May. I was showing it to one of my friends at work who loved it and asked if I could make one for her niece. Then she gulped and said that her niece's favourite colour wasn't blue.... although to be fair, Yvonne did say I could make it lilac.

However, I bowed to the customer's needs and did a **** one.  Sadly though, I forgot to take a photo of it before I gave it to Yvonne but she took it back into work today and Andy took a photo of it and sent it to me, so it's not quite as a good a photo as the other two.

Challenges I'd like to enter:

Craft Your Passion - Anything Goes
Make It Monday
Creative Stamp Friends - Birthday
Aud's Sentiments - Any Sentiment for a Child's birthday

Image - Little Ballerina, LotV coloured with Copics and Promarkers, Sentiment, Ladybug Crafts Ink
Cardstock/Paper - From stash
Embellishments - Bakers Twine, Card Candy, Ballet Shoes (blue ones coloured with Copics
Tools - Flower punch

I've had quite a productive couple of days. See, the football is quite useful for something ;)

Share it On Sunday

It's a rainy old Sunday but it's time to Share it On Sunday over at Sugar Nellies. Today Karen has shared a photo of the exterior of the new shop which will be opening next weekend in Old Meldrum. If you're in that area next weekend then I would suggest that's the place to be!

I saw this photo on Kath's blog this morning and thought I'd share it! It's a group photo from yesterday. I'm right at the back, hiding! And I am hiding, you can't actually see me! Oops.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday. Hope it's not too wet where you are. I am watching the tennis, where it is also raining and I am *slightly* disturbed at the sight of Rafa wearing ****.....

Girls Just Want to Have Fun

Well what a busy week I've had! I will not bore you with the details though.

Craig wanted to see the Olympic torch in Glasgow last night so Andy went to pick the boys up early from after school and brought them into the city centre. While he was picking them up someone offered them 3 tickets to the event being held in George Square so although I met up with them they left me as they had to be in the Square by 5.45pm. I didn't want to go home without seeing the torch so I went for a coffee but then a friend also came in with her son who is Craig's pal and I met up with the two of them. We stood for ages in Buchanan Street waiting but were rewarded with a sight of the gorgeous James McAvoy carrying the torch! I'm so glad Sharon actually had her camera with her!!

And so very early today the lovely Cass and I set off for Perth for the final Girls Just Want to Have Fun day.

There were 3 workshops in all run by Debbi, Kath and Anne.

This is Debbi's project - a fabby altered notebook.

This is Anne's project. Instead of using material we used napkins. You will notice that I tried very hard not to use all the pink bits of the napkin.... Poor Anne, she even had to get out the Soft Suede ink pad so I could use that instead of the pink!

And finally this Kath's project. So lovely and is now hanging up in my living room. Although it's not in a permanent slot but I just wanted to display it.

I'm thinking that this or the notebook would make great gifts for the boys' teachers. I may have to work incredibly hard between now and the end of June though.

We had a fantastic day, lots of fun and laughs and lots of work!  The only trouble is, I now have a very long shopping list!!

Enjoy the rest of your Saturday. We're flitting between watching the football and It's A Wonderful Life (yes, a tad unseasonal I grant you....)

Totally Papercrafts Challenge

Morning all, it's time for another challenge over at Totally Papercrafts. And this week it's the turn of the gorgeous Cathy to choose the challenge and for this week the challenge is

Doodle On It

We are sponsored this week by Delicious Doodles who are offering 4 digi's of the winner's choice to the winner.

This is my card. I'm not particularly happy with it - I'm not a great fan of my doodling and this isn't really what I had planned to do with this card but as I didn't take what I needed to Cass' on Wednesday this is what I ended up with.

Make it Monday
Oh La La - Make it Girly

I am still here...

Just in case you were at all worried ;)

The head injury appears to be just fine - thank you for your concern. And the brains (or what little there is of them appear to have remained in tact)

What a busy couple of days I've had!

Yesterday I was looking after Scott's wee pal while his mum went to work, I handed him back and immediately the child took ill and had to be off school today.... it wisnae me guv, honest!!(to be fair Lorraine did say he wasn't well to start with but I think being here and having the boys to play with probably took his mind off it!)

Last night I was round at Cass' and had quite a productive night. Although I do need to spread this productiveness (is that a word) through the rest of the week too. It was, as ever, a late one and I pottered about for a wee while when I got home and then red my book so it was very very late by the time I slept. This morning I was awoken by Andy shouting get up.... my clock bizarrely had decided to lose an hour through the night and so was displaying 6.07am instead of 7.07am (alarm is set for 6.45....) kinda threw me out for the rest of the day!

Tonight I didn't get home from work until after 9 as I was attending some training for the Parent Council! I am now very tired but here I sit blogging and commenting (although I may not get round to blog visiting till tomorrow night).

So here's one of the cards I made last night!

Challenges I'd like to enter:

Sugar Bowl - sketch (and optional theme of purple)
Make it Monday

No new products were harmed in the making of this card! Use It Up 2012. Image - Bumble Bee, Funky Kits coloured with Promarkers, Ticket, free from Craft Stamper magazine
Cardstock/Paper - From stash
Embellishments - From stash
Tools - QuickKutz corner, Cuttlebug

Thanks for dropping by today. I'm off to bed now to make up that extra hour my stupid clock deprived me of this morning!!

Tuesday, 5 June 2012

Oops!

What a day yesterday was. Took the boys to Jurassic Parrr which is an adventure golf place close to us. They were having a ball until we got onto hole 17. I was waiting for them at the end of when I decided I needed to get out the way in case of flying golf balls. I stepped back over a rock which was bigger than I anticipated and ended up sprawled on the ground. And there was blood... and being a head injury there was quite a lot of it!

Anyway, the boys and Andy continued their game... and I visited the first aider who patched me up. He said it was a graze rather than a split so just advised that I should visit the hospital if I felt dizzy or unwell! Thankfully everything was fine and although I didn't sleep very well last night cos every time I turned over I seemed to hit the sore bit.

So today we've been visiting friends which was lovely as we've not seen them for a while.  The boys and Katy had a ball playing together and even 2 year old Callum tried to join in but he's just a tad slower than them at the moment!

Haven't managed much crafting - although as I write that that isn't strictly speaking correct. I've coloured in a few images, matched them with paper and card. They just haven't made into actual cards just yet!

I also wanted to share a photo of my Mum and Dad today as this would have been their 47th wedding anniversary, unfortunately I saved it on the computer (which is Scott's room) not the laptop!

Thanks for dropping by today.

Sweet Stampin Challenge

Morning all, it's Saturday and it's time for a new challenge over at Sweet Stampin. I warn you now, it's a toughie! This time we want you to use.....

Your Favourite Stamp

Told you it was hard... I spent a long time trying to decide what stamp to use. I didn't want the rest to be insulted when I didn't pick them. Over on the SN Facebook page, the lovely Fi who runs the challenges set a challenge on Sunday of Things With Wings so I thought I would combine this card with that challenge. I narrowed down my choice to Pippi and Rosie. Then I thought I would use my favourite ever Stampin Up paper Elegant Soiree. Pippi has way too much attitude for Elegant Soiree so the card became Rosie!

We are sponsored this week by Letraset who are offering a set of Promarkers to the winner. Our monthly sponsor is Joanna Sheen who are offering a £10 gift voucher to the winner.

Challenges I'd like to enter:

Happy Birthday Scott

7 years ago today we went from a family of 3 to a family of 4! To be honest it seems like yesterday.

This is a layout I finished recently (started it ages ago) but only finished it a couple of weeks ago. It seemed fitting to leave it until Scott's birthday to share with you. I say finished. I haven't actually added any journalling yet. That's on my to do list for next week at the Crafty Cabin.
