Lovely weekend

Sorry no card to share tonight! Not long home from Sunny Stenton and after the excesses of last night I'm at last starting to feel a little more human (just a little though....) We've all had a great time at Ackie and Val's. Went to the beach on Friday and then had a chippy tea sitting at the harbour in Dunbar. Back to the beach on Saturday morning and then a family BBQ in the afternoon/evening/night... Great to be with lots of family and we also made a couple of calls to Canada to other cousins. We got to speak to Lorna who was actually at her son's baseball game when she was suddenly disturbed by a lot of drunken Scots! We didn't manage to speak to Jen last night but she called back today so she got slightly more sober (and very tired) Scots. Maybe I'll be back to normal by tomorrow. I'm clearly too old for this :P Hugs.Susan xxx

Bazinga

I clearly watch more Big Bang Theory than is good for a person..... Made this at tea break at work. We'd been talking about sarcasm and the BBT where Sheldon thought that Leonard and Penny were being serious when they said that she had a sarcasm sign. So I thought it would be a good idea to come up with one. Normal service will be resumed tomorrow when we're back from our weekend away. I've scheduled this post so that at least I'll have posted on Saturday :D Have a good weekend, whatever you're up to. Hugs. Susan xxx

So much for the early night!

And I was going to have one. Honest! We're going away tomorrow for the weekend. We're off through to Andy's cousin's in East Lothian til Sunday. Looking forward to it. Hoping the weather will be kind to us. There are talks of the beach and the kind of meal that you cook outdoors when the weather is nice but don't want to say it's name in case it jinxes it. Like Voldemort..... oops. This is the card I was having all the difficulty with the other night. Although, to be fair, it's completely changed since I chucked it in the bin. I'm pleased with this effort though.

I'd like to enter it in the following challenge Less is More - Ribbon or Buttons Image - I heart Hearts set, Sentiment from So Happy for You - Stampin Up Cardstock - Whisper White - Stampin Up Ink - Early Espresso - Stampin Up Ribbon - Chocolate Chip - Stampin Up Tools - Stampamajig - Stampin Up Hugs.Susan xxx

Back again

Gave myself a talking to and finished the 2 cards that needed putting together. I'm sharing one just now. I'll post the other one tomorrow. Love this wee image. Suitable for anyone who does crosswords I guess but especially suitable for men's cards when you can't think of anything else!!

I'd like to enter it into the following challenges Penny Black Saturday Challenge - Starburst Stampin for the Weekend - Paws for Thought Totally Papercrafts - One for the Boys Passion for Promarkers - Animal Crackers Stamps R Us - Happy Birthday Image - Penny Black (don't know the name of the stamp though) coloured with Promarkers Cardstock - from stash Paper - MME - Lime Twist Embellishments - Stars from stash Tools - Big shot, Nesties - Labels Hugs.Susan xxx

Not a terribly creative evening so far....

I think the heat is sapping my creative energy..... Well, that's my excuse for the moment. Made a card last night for the Less is More Challenge. Don't like it. It went in the bin! I realise I may not be a Less is More type girl. There's a couple of half made cards which I could really just put together but haven't managed to do that yet. Might be back later if I decide to finish the cards off. Susan xxx

Don't faint, I know it's early

but I'm just sitting with the laptop and a cuppa and a photo of a card that was made yesterday so thought I'd come along and share it with you. It's been very quiet here today - Craig has been at his friends for most of the day - in fact, I'm not long back from collecting him. He's had a great day, and hopefully will be suitably exhausted by the time they have an early night in preparation for going to out of school care tomorrow. Have I mentioned I hate Tuesdays.... especially Tuesdays where I've spent the day relaxing in the garden. I don't want to go to work tomorrow and be cooped up in the office!!! Never mind, got to be done I suppose. This is a card for a friend's birthday today. Should be safe enough to blog it now as Andy hand delivered the card at work today! It's been ages since I used Mr Owl from the Stampin Up Punch Bunch set. I'd forgotten how much I liked him. I may make another card with him later. Now, it's my friend Sandra's birthday on Thursday and according to the comment she left on last night's blog post she's looking to be dazzled by her birthday card....... It could be a long night..... I'm not sure I can do dazzling ;) Image - Mr Owl from Punch Bunch, Stampin Up, Sentiment, Stampin Up Cardstock and paper - from stash. Although I think the paper is MME Stella & Rose Ink - Chocolate Chip and Early Espresso, Stampin Up Embellishments - Card Candy, Craftwork Cards Hugs.Susan xxx

I could get used to this

What a lovely few days of sun we've had. Spent yesterday at my cousin's in Linlithgow. Had a lovely day sitting chilling in the garden sipping a g and t. Very nice! The boys can't wait to go back so they must have had a good time (I haven't broken this news to Hazel and Sean yet, lol). The boys and I then drove through to Edinburgh to stay the night at Andy's brother's and to bring Andy back today. Once we came back we went up to Sandra's who had taken the bouncy slide out for all the kids to play on and Sandra, Yvonne and I sat in the sun sipping a glass or two of wine. How very civilised!! I could get used to this weather :) Had a birthday card to make for tomorrow - which is done, but I don't want to blog it yet so I made another one. Think this may be my favourite Sassy Image - Hippy Chick. But then each one becomes my favourite as I colour her in!! I've teamed it with my very favourite Stampin' Up DSP - Elegant Soiree Image - Hippy Chick - Simply Sassy Cardstock - from stash and Baja Breeze from Stampin Up Embellishments -Soft Suede ribbon (retired) from Stampin Up Hugs. Finished at last

A few weeks ago I went to an open day at Damselfly Crafts on Great Western Road. Lorraine was doing a canvas workshop which was fab! I'd never done a canvas before so it was interesting to use this to create something rather than a card or a scrapbook page. I didn't manage to finish my canvas on the day and it's been lying in the bag that I brought it home in since. Anyway, I said to Lorraine this week that finishing it would be my challenge for the week. So here we go, here it is. I'm quite pleased with it and I think it's something I'll try again! The LotV Ideas to Inspire blog - sneak peeks of lots of lovely Christmas stamps, available from 25th July.

Home alone

Well, not really. The children are in! I was going to get so much crafting done this weekend with Andy being away. Hasn't happened yet sadly. Still time tonight though. Look what colour this is! It's pink!!! Those of you who know me well know how much I hate pink. However, I challenged myself to make a pink girly card and I coloured this image while we were away.

First day down!

and only 2 to go. Unfortunately though, tomorrow will be a very long one - off to Birmingham on the 7am flight and the flight back will be 6.45pm so it's a long long day! Just wondering about the feasibility of taking some images and maybe my prismacolour pencils with me to do on the flight..... No, you're right, I'd best just take my book. Now, I should really have turned in for the night as I'll have to be up at stupid o'clock tomorrow night but I decided to blog instead. I'll go after this, honest! This is another one of my new stamps - A Cherry on Top - and I teamed it with one of my recipe stamps from LotV. I'm not too sure about the card but I was experimenting!!

I'd like to enter it in the following challenge

The holiday is (almost) over

Back to work tomorrow :( But enough of that nonsense! We've had a lovely holiday and a lovely evening tonight. Went for a meal with Sandra and Pete and then we went to see HP7. It was fab and I will admit to shedding a tear or 12 throughout the film. It's the end of an era. I can't believe Harry won't be back. Made this card the other day - it's a Gorjuss girl although for the life of me I can't remember her name! Coloured the image in on holiday so I was quite pleased that the Stella & Rose paper went with it. Good memory huh? Challenge - Papertake Weekly - something cute (well, I think she's kinda cute!) Back tomorrow with a birthday card I should have sent today but forgot to post. Oops. Hugs.Susan xxx

2nd post of the day

Another of my new stamps - Peek a Boo from Funky Kits. Love her! And another of my new toys, the gingham stamp set from Waltzing Mouse stamps. I'm loving these too. Gingham may be featuring a lot on cards soon! This may, or may not turn out to be a birthday card for my friend's daughter. I've made another too but I wanted to enter this one into the Passion for Promarkers Challenge so I need to do it before it closes soon :)

Well this is a first...

It's the Glasgow Fair Monday holiday. And it is NOT raining..... yet. I'm afraid I haven't been very productive on the house tidying/holiday stuff putting away front. The crafting table was just shouting too loud so I'm afraid I listened to that instead of the housework.... I've made a couple of cards today - am hopeful of making some more later.... you never know. Although I will have to move all the stuff off our bed before we go to bed tonight. Again! Every day I move it off the floor and onto the bed and it never ever gets sorted. Maybe one day. Just not today. This is one of my new stamps - available from Funky Kits - isn't she just adorable!!

I'd like to enter the card in the following challenges The Sugar Bowl - sketch CES Challenges - Christmas Paper Sundaes - Christmas in July

Back to reality

ish... I don't actually go back to work till Wednesday. Got back yesterday at tea time. It was a fairly horrible drive the whole way up - there was a lot of rain for most of the journey and I was feeling pretty rotten but we made it. Craig never even came into the house until his dinner was made - he went straight to his friends house!! It was nice to come back to a Sugar fix :D I'd indulged in the Carnival of Colour launch over at Funky Kits the weekend we went away on holiday and treated myself to stamps and there was also the gingham stamps I'd ordered from Waltzing Mouse waiting for me too. What more could a girl ask for! Anyway, got a wee chance to play today with one of my new stamps. Well, I inked them all up but this one has made it to a card. I had to stop to watch the Apprentice final!!! The image is Luv A Latte from Funky Kits, coloured with promarkers (and thanks to Debbi I bought a burnt orange and coral promarker and I've used these to colour the skin along with sunkissed pink and blush). The paper is my fave Stampin Up DSP - Elegant Soiree. I've made this for the Sugar Nellie Facebook group challenge.

Hugs.

Sunny Saturday

Got round to making a card last night! Well, it's almost a Blue Peter type effort as I prepared most of it at home and just stuck it together here. It's for a friend's daughter's birthday on Monday. Now all I have to do is remember to get a stamp...... I took the photo of the card in the garden! A lovely day here again. In fact, I'm blogging in the garden, cup of coffee in hand. The children are playing quietly..... no, scratch that, the children are playing but it's still very peaceful. Coloured in some images I brought with me too but I'm finding it quite difficult to do that without having either a paper to go with them or a card in mind! Enjoy your weekends, whatever you're doing. Hugs Susan xxx

Wish you were here...

In lieu of a postcard This is the outdoor swimming pool we went to the other day at Woodhall Spa! It was fab :) And this is the Dambuster Memorial which we visited too. Very emotional! Susan xxx

So excited!

I made the top 3 over at Simply Stampin' Challenge Blog :) That's us in our lovely cottage in Lincolnshire. It is absolutely gorgeous. I'd love to have a house like this! I'll get some photos of it and post them to let you see. The weather is glorious, I'm sitting in the garden typing this - awaiting the arrival of a glass of Pimms! Susan xx
