Golf and Brides

Morning.

It's Monday, but it's a holiday Monday here so the boys are off school and Andy and I are both off work.

A great day was had yesterday at the Ryder Cup. And I have to be honest, I was glued to it too - it was very exciting (and I don't even like golf) watching Europe retain the Ryder Cup.

So this is today's card. My friend asked me to make a card for her sister and partner who were having their civil ceremony last weekend in Millport. I decided to go with an A5 card for a change and rather than stamping an image I just used lots of dies, flowers and pearls and a computer generated sentiment.  I did stamp the background though using Bronte Script from Visible Image.

Yawn!

Hello!

I have been trying to write this blog post for hours. Somehow I kept getting distracted so here I am now. Andy has gone to bed as he's up early in the morning as he's off to the Ryder Cup at Gleneagles - there is great excitement* about this.

*not from me

It's been a busy old day - went through to Edinburgh for a craft show - got lots of lovely new dies to play with but came home and didn't bother playing with them as I watched Strictly and Doctor Who instead! Love Saturday night TV in Autumn.

So, to today's card - my friend Debs asked me to do a baby boy card like one I had done before and while it's similar to one I had done it's not quite the same. I love this little baby image from LotV. I think next time I'll paper piece the blanket too - maybe!

Sweet Stampin' Challenge

Morning all, it's Saturday and that means it's time for a new challenge at Sweet Stampin'.

Yes, I know it's a Team Abi week but I couldn't resist as this week our theme is
Just For Men

Our sponsor this week are Yours and Mine Papercraft.

I love these Penny Black bears and I was delighted at an excuse to get them inked up again. This is a card for my friend's daughter to give her son and I usually always have a rugby theme running through the card but I decided this year not to use a rugby player - although I bought one earlier in the year with this card in mind but the wee bears are actually holding the letters edged with the Cartha colours! And look, doodling too.

Challenges I'd Like to Enter

Stamps
Bears - Penny Black
Alphabet - Penny Black

Colouring Medium
Copics

 Thanks for dropping by today.

Remember to drop by Sweet Stampin' and see what the rest of the Team Abi Sweeties have been up to! Perhaps you could have a go yourself, don't forget to stamp now ;)

We're Back!

Hello. Again! This is my third post of the day so if you're looking for MAWTT or Charisma then please scroll down.

Sad news about Charisma today but today's good news is that the Sugar Bowl is back and we have some fab new teamies just itching to get started.

One lucky winner of this challenge gets to choose  4 pieces of super sweet Sugar Nellie rubber candy
(or 6 pieces, if there are over 100 entries)
from

Make a card or other craft project using a Sugar Nellie image and this prize could be yours.

It's Anything Goes but remember the Sugar Nellie image - (that's essential!)

Put The Coffee On

Hello.

There is lots I should be doing today as it's my day off but having stayed up quite late watching the results of the Independence Referendum come in I'm a bit tired and sitting in my pjs on the sofa and listening to some music.  I shall be mainlining coffee sometime soon. I am very jealous of my friend whose OH went out for breakfast rolls for them both!

So to today's card. This is the birthday card I made for Scott to give his pal. I had the idea when I made the card for Logan with his cat on to do another with a dog!

Friends

Morning.

Hope you had a good weekend. Thanks for all your lovely comments over the weekend, they've really made me smile.

So, friends.... a friend of mine asked me to make a card for a friend of hers to celebrate 30 years of their friendship. I was a bit stuck as I wasn't sure what I would use - nothing seemed right and then I stumbled across this image from Squigglefly and it fitted the bill perfectly!

Yeah. That System Yesterday. Not Working.

So I'll need to think of another way of sharing everything - all the **** cards would be at the end as they're all filed under Y for Yuck ;)

This is a baby card I made ages ago - and I can't even remember who it was for!

I do love this little LOTV baby image, good for colouring (or leaving in a white babygro) or paper piecing - in this case the baby has a white babygro but watch out later on for a paper pieced one!

So What's Under The Bed?

Yeah, guess what I was watching?!

Which was followed by the lottery quiz where Dale Winton asked a contestant which English county Penzance was in. And what was answer? Scotland. What. A. Fud. There may have been a little* mocking and shouting at the TV in this house.

*quite a lot

So on to today's card. I'm clearing out my folder of stuff to be shared and I have put everything in alphabetical order so fingers crossed in a couple of weeks the folder will be empty of all the cards that haven't been shared yet.

This is a wedding card I was asked to make in June. I like WOW cards for weddings and you need a bit of bling for a wedding too and this card certainly has plenty of that.

This isn't the best photo in the world but I was delivering it to a friend at the rugby club and I forgot to take a photo of it in the house! Christmas at Sweet Stampin' Challenge

Morning all.

It's time our new challenge at Christmas At Sweet Stampin'

Our theme this month is

Christmas Critters

Our sponsor this month is the fabulous Hobby House who are offering £10 to the winner.

I've made a Christmas decoration for Scott using his very favourite animal. I was going to use some kind of penguin image but on our recent zoo trip they didn't come out for their daily parade so I'm still a bit upset by them ;)

Now that I've made this I have to remember where I've put it so that it does actually go on Scott's tree for Christmas. Unless I put the decorations up now......

Just Monkeying Around

Hello.

Just a quick post before I head off to bed! I'm sharing with you a card I made for my friend's daughter for her birthday which was at the weekend.  I was a bit stuck with what to do and then I decided that you can never go wrong with a monkey image. Especially when the girl is wearing a monkey hat and doing some kind of gymnastic move which is very appropriate for the birthday girl concerned! (well, maybe not the monkey hat bit) I've teamed the Tiddly Inks girl with the monkey from the same set and gone for a very simple card (but turned out to be quite large when I teamed it with this Happy Birthday die from Die Versions.
