That Craft Place Challenge

Hello again - this must be something of a record - 3 posts and it's not even 10am yet!!

It's time for a new challenge at That Craft Place

This time our theme is

Animals

That gives you lots of scope - creations with animals on them!

I decided not to go for a card this time but instead to make a card game... yeah, I know, crazy huh!

I cut 16 ATC sized bits of card (2.5in by 3.5in) and stamped them with this cute little frog and rabbit stamps which are Docrafts Country Companions range.

I then coloured them with my Promarkers and inked round the edge of the cards with some DI and stamped little leaves round the edges of the cards too. There's also a handy little box to keep the pairs in.

I had hoped to get a photo of one of the boys playing the game but the answer was a resounding no!

It's Oh So Quiet

Andy is at the football, Craig and his friend are away out for lunch/dinner and Scott is out playing. It somehow seems more peaceful today without them that it does normally through the week.

Scott and I baked a Simnel Cake this morning and it's looking very tempting sitting on the table right now (even though I haven't finished decorating it) but I suppose I'd better leave it till tomorrow.

This is the card I did for the boys' teachers (there are 3). Just wanted something simple and not too girly (in case the boys were offended by girly cards!). Benson fitted the bill - isn't he just fab :)

Totally Papercrafts Challenge

Morning all, it's Friday and that means it's time for a new challenge at Totally Papercrafts. This week it's the turn of the lovely Carol to set the challenge and she has chosen the theme

Metal
so let's see some metal somewhere on your creations this week!

We're sponsored this week by Ladybug Crafts Ink.

And here is my card. I've used Robyn from Ladybug Crafts (see I can use Robyn, Kerry!)

Not sure about this card though... it's maybe just a bit too girly for me ;) Cass gave me another idea for a different card so I'll maybe hold that idea in reserve in case the Metal theme turns up again ;)

Mid Month at Christmas at Sweet Stampin'

Morning all.

Here we are, a day closer to the start of British Summer Time.....

It's time for some mid month inspiration at Christmas At Sweet Stampin'

Just a wee reminder that our this month our theme is

No Red or Green

Our sponsor this month is

Flatfriends

So when I started to think about what I would do for no red or green I immediately thought I would go with a WOW card, with maybe a bit of blue thrown in but..... look, no red, no green but no white or blue either. And not even a card!

I decided to have a bit of a play thanks to the lovely Cathy and this is what I ended up with. I'm quite pleased with it for a first attempt, I think. One thing is certain though, I'm doing this again. It was so much fun!

Love to Create Challenge

Morning all.

It's time for a new challenge at Love to Create

This week our theme is

Pastel Colours or Easter

So a bit of a choice for you there. Although you could go with a pastel coloured Easter card.

Our sponsors this week are Wings and Willows and QKR Stampede

Now it doesn't take a genius to see that I haven't created a card for this week  and for that I'm sorry. I had a bit of a week and by the time I got round to thinking about doing a card I had to put all the stuff away for our visitors.

So for the moment, it just remains for me to say remember to drop by Love to Create and see what the rest the DT have been up to.

Sweet Stampin' Challenge

Morning all, it's Saturday and it's been snowing (and it's freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeezzzzzzzzzzzinnnng) - this time last year it was summer.

It's time for a new challenge at Sweet Stampin'.

This week our theme is

Lots of Layers

Our sponsor this week are My Mum's Craft Shop who are offering a £10 voucher to the winner.  Our monthly sponsor is The Ribbon Girl who are offering a £10 voucher to the monthly winner.

And here is my card. I am particularly pleased with this one. This was a card my friend asked me to make for her in-laws for their Ruby Wedding a couple of  weeks ago. Well, to be exact, she asked me to make two. One from her andher husband, the other one from her girls.

I have masked, paper pieced and done red hair! I am so chuffed with the hair it's not true. I may never be able to replicate it again.

I thought I should come back and share the bookmark I made for Scott!

This time I've used Let's Play Ball from Crafty Sentiments. I bought this stamp ages ago but this is the first time I've used it - I shall be using it again very soon though cos I have an idea for a card. Which I should really write down otherwise.....

Creative Craft Challenges

Morning all.

It's time for a new challenge at Creative Craft Challenges

This time our theme is

For The Kids

Our sponsors this fortnight are Dustin Pike and Meiflower.

I've gone for something a little different this time and made a corner bookmark using the lovely Erin's tut on That Craft Place Inpsiration Blog. I kept it fairly simple though, given that it was for Craig and to go in a book!

I was going to make another for Scott at the same time and I had the stamp in my hand when I was organising things. Put it down, and couldn't find it again! I have found it again now but it was too late to put on the blog!

That Craft Place Challenge

Morning all.

It's time for a new challenge at That Craft Place

This time our theme is

Weddings

I have gone for a scrapbook layout this time. I didn't want to do another card and the lovely Lisa had sent me some fabby stuff so I really wanted to be able to incorporate these into my creation this time. And what a gorgeous couple they are, aren't they.... *coughs* No idea what became of them :P

It's been a long time since I did any scrapbooking so hoping I can do some more soon. There are album pages needing filled!

Totally Papercrafts Challenge

Morning all, it's Friday and that means it's time for a new challenge at Totally Papercrafts. This week it's the turn of the lovely Kim to set the challenge and she has chosen the theme

Easel Cards

We're sponsored this week by Stamp and Create and Doodle Dragon Studios.

Now, I always think easel cards look very nice but whenever I try to do them they always end up looking a bit naff so this was a bit of a challenge for me. I think it looks ok though.

You will notice that Noah and his tyre swing are making their second appearance within a week.... well, blame Scott! He had a birthday party last weekend and when he was trying to choose what image for the birthday card he saw the other Noah card and decided he wanted that.

It's a simple enough card and I *think* I managed to make it look different from my Sweet Stampin' card.

If In Doubt, Google It!

Morning all and a warm welcome to my new bloggy friends. Good to have you aboard.

Today I'm sharing another Mother's day card with you. This was the second of the two that my friend asked me to make - this one was for her mother in law.   My brief (for both cards) was non pink and non girly but pretty and for this card, some words!

I resorted to Google to find an appropriate verse and came up with the one that I've used here. I can't even remember where I got it from so can't give credit for it.

I used the lasercut swirl from Hobbycutz that Kobie sent me for the Sweet Stampin' challenge a few weeks ago so I decided to go for a similar look to the card (the only trouble is I forgot the leaves on the card this time!)

I'd also like to tell you there's a new challenge over at Christmas at Sweet Stampin'  and this time our theme is

It's my turn this time to be providing the mid month inspiration for this challenge so you'll see my card for this challenge in a couple of weeks. Pop over to the blog to see what the rest of the Christmas Sweeties have been up to.

Thanks for dropping by today.  Enjoy your Wednesday.

Love To Create Challenge

Morning all, the start of a new week and we're almost midway through March... it will be you know what before we know it ;)

It's time for a new challenge at Love to Create

This week our theme is

Lavender and Lace

Our sponsor this week is Sassy Studio who gave the DT some images to play with.

I have to be honest, I struggled a bit with this. You'll know delicate and pretty isn't really my thing and I'm still not sure about this but never mind.

I decided to make a tag this time rather than a card - just to be a wee bit different and to keep you on your toes.

I inked round the edges of the tag (Inkylicious) with some Milled Lavender Distress Ink and also used the same DI on the cream doiley. I also stamped a script stamp on the DP using the ink and then I chucked some pearls at it.... sorry, Cathy, placed carefully.... and voila!

Salute Her

Morning!

So the trip to Domino's Pizza was a great success... so much so that Scott has  decided that he can make the pizzas and we have to pay for them! A friend has come up with a great idea though, wait till Tuesdays and then we'll get two for the price of one ;)

A few weeks ago a friend of mine asked me if I could make a card for her daughter who is off to Army College today. I knew immediately the image I could use for this and went for Salute Her from Saturated Canary. I had a vague idea of what I wanted to do but one night just as I was about to drop off to sleep it came to me.... what I would actually do with the card.... and it kept me awake for ages after that!

I have distressed the dog tag a wee bit with some alcohol inks. Unfortunately I don't actually have that many so had to make do with what I had. I did enjoy playing with them though so perhaps that's an idea to give Andy for my birthday.

So this card is for Sarah, who starts a new chapter in her life today. Good luck Sarah, I hope it all works for you!
