Tropical Tuesday

Morning all.

So after Monday's hideous weather today was, well, sunny... like summer should be..... Mmmmm. Am I in a parallel universe?!

There are loads of things I need to be doing tomorrow - I should maybe write myself a to do list. But that would be way too organised. Oh, hang on, maybe the me in a parallel universe would do that...She's probably got a tidy house too ;)

Anyway, to today's card. This is using another of the images that Cass got me when she was up on holiday. I just love this image. He reminds me of Craig with his Ted. Although Craig's Ted is much smaller than this one. We used to live in complete terror that he would lose him somewhere and that cos he was small he would be lost forever. Thankfullly it never happened and Teddy (although very battered but very loved) survives to this day.

Could Someone Switch The Rain Off

puhlease!!!!

Hello and welcome to new followers *waving*

It's very quiet here and for once I'm actually enjoying the peace. Won't be that way in a couple of hours when the cherubs get home from school. Mmmm. What could I do till then?! Housework? Reading? Crafting? Nothing?

So last week on the Sugar Nellie Facebook group  it was an Anything Goes week for the theme. I must have entered a record number of entries...and I shall share those I haven't already through the week. Well on Saturday evening I thought I was done. I even told Fiona I had finished. She said "are you sure".... and then the lovely Shazza entered a card using Strike A Pose so I wavered slightly. Coloured her hair and skin in before I went to bed and left it there... Then I got up on Sunday morning and decided to make a card with what was left lying on the table before I tidied up. And this is the result :)

Oh, and lucky me, I won the challenge this week too so I got to choose a stamp from Funky Kits. I shall leave it as a surprise which one I picked.

Challenges I'd like to enter:

The Sugar Bowl - Wendy's Sketch

Stamps
Strike A Pose, Funky Kits coloured with Promarkers

Sweet Stampin' Challenge

It's time for a Team Fi challenge at Sweet Stampin' and what do we have for you today....

Out of the Frame
(so use a frame but leave a little of your image outside of it!)

And here is my card for today, which to be honest, started off life as something completely different! If you were around yesterday you'll have noticed I used a stepper card yesterday too (bought them in the craft shop on Thursday and felt the need to use them!)

We are sponsored today by Sew Sweet and of course our monthly sponsor is the lovely Joanna Sheen both of whom are offering fabby prizes.

It started off life as Cass' birthday card but I didn't like the image I had used once I had done it so the image was removed and put on a completely different card (which I'll share tomorrow) and when I was round at Cass' I found the bottom bit of paper in her scrap box and used that instead. And so the card grew from there. I am more pleased with it now than I was orginally!

Challenges I'd like to enter

Crafts and Me - Autumn Colours
Divas by Design - Anything Goes
The Paper Shelter - Anything Goes
Emerald Faeries - Punches/Dies

Down to Earth (with a bump)

What a busy weekend! Had a lovely time over on Ali's Island on Saturday with the troops and the sun shone all day so it was fab. It was funny getting the last ferry home and knowing that that was the island cut off for another day (unless of course you wanted to swim off...)

Anyway, this seems like an appropriate time to share this card (see what I did there....). This is one of the new releases from Funky Kits called Under the Sea and this is the first time since I bought all four of them that I've actually managed to use one! Watch out for the other three making an appearance very soon.

I may have gone slighly OTT with the pearls but I love them and I'm really pleased with this card too.

Sneaks In Under The Wire....

Firstly can I say, welcome to my new followers. Lovely to have you aboard :)

Well, we're off to Ali's Island again today. The boys are super excited about the whole thing (and we're taking Daddy this time too) as am I.

That's the first week of school over and we seem to have come through it unscathed which is always a good thing.

So the fact that we will be in Cathy's company might mean that this card escapes her notice entirely as you know how much both us like this particular colour. Ali loves it though, it's just a pity I had already given her her birthday card!!

I made this because I said I couldn't. And I do love a challenge.... ish ;) It's Cupcake Craft's birthday and when I saw the photo inspiration I thought there's no way I can do that, there's **** in it. Sandra entered and when I commented I said that I couldn't and she text me to say that there was no reason I couldn't go with the cake as the inspiration rather than the colour.

Tiddly Inks were having a sale the other day and I saw this little cutie so I decided to have her and coloured her round at Cass' last night. I didn't start off with the intention of doing her **** but Cass had these papers in her stash which I thought went very well with the challenge and the image!

 Challenges I'd like to enter:

Cupcake Crafts - Birthday Photo Inspiration

Wrynn, Tiddly Inks coloured with Promarkers and Copics
Sentiment, not sure of manufacturer
Cardstock

Totally Papercrafts Challenge

Morning all, it's time for a new challenge over at Totally Papercrafts and this week it's my turn to pick the challenge and I have chosen the theme

Inspired by A Song

Easy peasy, all you need to do is create something which has been inspired by a song, doesn't even need to be your favourite song.  Please tell us in your post what song you've been inspired by.

---------------------------

This weeks fabulous sponsor is
who are offering a $10 gift certificate to their store

And here is my card. Which really was inspired by the song Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd. I had originally planned to use this image for a previous challenge - Summer. It was while I was on holiday though and although I had taken this SC image with me, I didn't actually have a clear idea what I was going to do. And then it came to me but I didn't actually have any of the stuff with me to make a card like I wanted. So I thought I'd keep it for another challenge some other time.  I already knew that I had picked Inspired by A Song for this week but wasn't sure what song I would use. And then, one night on the way home from Cass' I heard Wish You Were Here on the radio and I knew then that my card would be perfect for the challenge! So, this really was inspired by a song... A classic song, which should never be attemped to be sung by anyone other than Dave Gilmour (organisers of Olympics Closing Cermony please note!!!)

Challenges I'd like to enter:

Make it Monday
One Stop Craft Challenge - A Summer Holiday
Anything Goes - Summer Days
Bunny Zoe - Summer
Elke Kaart Een Feestje - Summer

And just before I go....

Have a great Friday.

Whatever that might be!

Boys started back to school today. This is Craig's last year at Primary. I can't quite believe it, I'm not sure where the last 7 years have gone.

And so on to today's card. My friend's wee boy was starting school yesterday and as his name is Dan when I found this image on Digi Stamp Boutique called Off To School Dan, I knew that I had to have him and make a card for him! (I hope by now that it's been delivered)

Last Outing....

of the summer holidays. The boys and I went over to the Isle of Cumbrae today to visit my lovely friends Cathy (who is on her summer hols with her family) and Ali

We all had a great day - the kids all got on like a house on fire and Dave did a sterling job entertaining them.  The boys are now desperate to go back to Ali's Island :)

I was asked to do a wedding card recently which had the names of the happy couple on it. I'm never very sure of wedding cards as I'm not sure a stamped image is the best way forward for them but this is what I came up with. Once I'd done it I decided it needed a spot of stamping so I used a sentiment from a Little Yellow Bicycle set.

The wedding was on Saturday so I'm sure that by now the happy couple will have it and that it's safe to post!

Stamp - Little Yellow Bicycle

Packing Up

It's almost over... the Olympics that is! Do you know, I'm really going to miss it. It's been a fabulous fortnight of sport and I have loved every minute of what I have watched (and I have to be honest, there isn't a lot that I haven't watched).

As I write Team GB has just won it's 29th Gold Medal thanks to Anthony Joshua in the Boxing. Absolutely fabulous.  And if the vision of this Olympics was to inspire a future generation then I think I can say they've certainly inspired our boys! Scott, in particular, just wants to do everything and who are we to stand in his way.

Now, I had thought about doing a card like this for the start of the Olympics but it somehow seems better to be doing it now after a fabulous performance by Team GB.

Challenges I'd like to enter:

Cupcake Craft - Bunting
Ladybug Crafts Ink - Summer Fun
Craft Your Days Away - Olympic Dreams
Saturday Challenge - Gold, Silver or Bronze (she's wearing a Gold Medal!)

Stamps

Letters - Penny Black
Cardstock/Paper - Stampin Up
Embellishments - Ribbon from stash (think it might have come from a chocolate medal!), pearls from stash

Sweet Stampin' Challenge

Morning all it's time for a new challenge over at Sweet Stampin' and this week our theme is

Things With Wings

Our sponsors this week are Lili of the Valley who are offering a £10 voucher to the winner and Joanna Sheen, our monthly sponsor are also offering a £10 voucher to the monthly winner.

And just to be me I thought I'd be a bit different.... I was going to use a LotV fairy, or the LotV boy with the aeroplane but then I saw this image at Simply Betty and fell in love with him. I particularly like the tongue sticking out because he is clearly concentrating. I do this and it's a trait that the boys seem to have developed too.

Cass will tell you how much fun I had making this card on Thursday night over at the Crafty Cabin. I kept giggling as I was doing it, I had so much fun. I've paper pieced his box using Kraft card and just to give it an authentic stuck together look I used some Washi Tape too :)

Challenges I'd like to enter:

Crafty Catz - Anything Goes
Here Come The Boys - Boys Toys
That Craft Place - Things With Wings
Papercrafting Journey - Anything Goes
Creative Inspirations - Anything Goes
Crafts and Me - Use a Digi

Totally Papercrafts Challenge

Oh dear, oh dear *shakes head* I really do need to read instructions properly before making a DT card....

It's time for a new challenge over at Totally Papercrafts and this time Diane has chosen the theme (it's her first time so be gentle with her!). This week we want you to

Frame It

(add a frame around your image)

The more observant amongst you will notice that there isn't, in fact, a frame around my image.... but.... the bears are holding frames... yeah, I know, go to the naughty step for not reading instructions properly.

We are sponsored this week by Stamp and Create and by a new sponsor to us Dilly Beans images!

No new products were harmed in the making of this card! Use It Up 2012.

Stamps -
Penny Black Bears coloured with Promarkers
Alphabet, Penny Black
Birthday sentiment, Stampin Up
Cardstock/Paper - From stash

Remember to pop over to Totally Papercrafts to see if the rest of the DT followed the instructions correctly (I'll give you a hint, they did....)

Thanks for dropping by today. Have a good Friday whatever you're up to.

Oh I'm getting old...

Maybe one day I will look back and laugh but.....

The other day I was asked to make a 16th birthday card which had Drake on it. No, I've no clue who he is either, but I figured a duck wasn't going to feature on the card.

So I Googled some images, found one and printed it off and created this card. All well? Well, no. After the card had been handed over I emailed a photo of it to my friend Lorraine and said, "here's the Usher card" (no, I have no clue who he is either)... she emailed me back and said "you said it was Drake"......

The air was blue can I tell you! I text in a panic but was assured the birthday girl liked Usher too. I have seen a photo of her holding the card and she did look very happy (although they did actually manage to get a photo of Drake and put it on the card)

Now, where did I get Usher from?!? Answers on a postcard please!

Life on the Edge

of my seat!  Been watching the Showjumping this afternoon. Team GB were in a jump off against the Netherlands and they came out on top!! Fantastic, another gold.

I should be fit by the end of these Olympics, all these different sports ;)

Oh and just as a wee aside, we watched the 100m final last night and once it was finished Scott declared that he was going to have Usain Bolt's record.... So, the Olympics 2024 then? I should add that yesterday morning he was going to be a hurdler.

On to today's card - this is a card I did for my friend's niece. He requested auburn hair and after consultation with my lovely friend Cathy this is what I came up with. He declared it was perfect and said that I had surpassed myself with the card. Another happy customer, so I'm very happy too.
