It's time for a new challenge at Crafty Sentiments Designs

This week our theme is

Anything But a Card

This is a sad day as my time as a guest designer with Crafty Sentiments has come to an end so I thought I'd go out on a high. I'd like to thank Suzette and  Jan for the last 6 months, it's been fun!

I've gone for a Christmas journal! Now it's my hope that I don't just leave this and never complete it.... I've a few more pages on the go and when they're done I shall share them with you. I decided not to bind it yet in case I think of more things to add but at the moment all the pages are planned with space for photos when the time arrives!

Morning all. I cannot believe that this is the last day of the summer holidays! Where did that 7 weeks go, it has just whooshed by.

It's time for a new challenge at Crafty Sentiments Designs

This week our theme is

Punches and Dies

I've tried to be a bit fancy with this one and create my own background for him. I stamped the Crafty Sentiments Boy and His Dog stamp and masked him and then used the well stamp to give him something to sit beside. I used some cloud paper and some Basic Grey paper I thought looked like the ground  behind him.

I've used Beach Ball for my card and the sandcastle and sentiment from the Teddy Jack set. I found this bit of unloved paper in my stash box and thought it looked vaguely sea like and then decided I'd tear some sand coloured coredinations card to make it look like the beach. I stamped the sandcastle on the coredinations card and used my pens for a bit of shading.

Female Birthday

So an easy one... or not....  

I have used the fab Harriet for my card which I made for my friend's daughter the other day. I am quite pleased with it even though there's you know what in it.

And this card caused a panic.... I went to colour her hair in and couldn't find my copics. Looked everywhere for the wallet they're in. Nowhere to be seen so I text Cass and asked if they were in the cabin but she said no and then even more panic ensued and I thought I was losing my mind. However, I got a text during the Apprentice from Cass to say that they were at the cabin and just hidden under something. Phew.

Now, I live in Scotland.. we don't see the sun very often so I wasn't sure what to do with this challenge... and I actually picked out some paper with umbrellas to use with Teddy Jack (well, I thought it was funny) but then my lovely friend Sandra and I ended up in a craft shop in Glasgow where they had these fab beach papers for 25p! A bargain! So Teddy Jack went to the beach, in the sun.

New Release at Crafty Sentiments

Morning all.

Today over at Crafty Sentiments there's a mini release of 6 stamps. Over at the Inspiration Blog we showed you the first 3 yesterday and today we're showing you the other 3.

My card is made using the very lovely Sweet Prayer.

I've gone for a WOW look for her as I thought that was best. So lots of die cutting and embossing for this one and some rolled flowers too.

Crafty Sentiment Designs New Release Blog Hop

Hello again and welcome to the Crafty Sentiments New Release Blog Hop.

You should have come to me via the lovely Jac. And here is my card, this is Primrose the Mermaid. I've coloured her hair to look like Ariel and I even created a little fish to look like her little friend Flounder! You'll note the table decorations have made a reappearance, so useful for bubbles :)

Crafty Sentiments Designs New Release Day 2

Morning all.

Welcome to the second day of peaks of the new stamps available from midnight (just a few hours to go) from Crafty Sentiments. I can hardly wait, I really need them all. Check out the Crafty Sentiments Inspiration blog for more details.

Today's image is called Summertime, isn't she just gorgeous? I'm saying Summertime with my tongue very firmly in my cheek cos I've got a horrible feeling that Tuesday was it... and it's back to winter again.

I've got to be honest, this is a bit of a Murphy's Law card - cos if it could go wrong with the card, it did... and I was stressing I wouldn't get it finished but there you go, I managed!

I've paper pieced her dress and just echoed the gingham with some ribbon and card candy. I think it looks vaguely summer like... maybe. I've forgotten what summer actually is.

Crafty Sentiments New Release Day 1 - part 2

Here I am again with another new release from Crafty Sentiments and remember if you go over to the Crafty Sentiments Inspiration blog you'll see another couple of the new releases.

This is Tobey and His Cat. You'll remember that we've had Tobey and His Dog, well, here he is again but this time with his feline friend. 

Wanted to keep the card kind of summery looking and went through a lot of DP's before finding something I was happy with!

This became Scott's wee pal's birthday card as he has a little black cat too so the image was just perfect. I don't think it comes up particularly well on the photo but I did chalk some clouds in too.

Crafty Sentiments New Release Day 1

Morning all, well there is great excitement in the air over at the Crafty Sentiments Inspiration blog as we're previewing some of the new releases for you over the next couple of days before the actual release of the stamps at midnight on Friday morning (and, if that wasn't enough, we'll have a blog hop for you on Friday too!)

And here is one of my cards for today (there will be another one along later!). This is Annabel Mermaid's Hair, isn't she fab :)

I coloured her with my pens and added some, would you believe some table decorations to look like bubbles, I've also added some laser cut swirls and tried to make them look like seaweed (I painted them with a paint dabber and once that was dry I embossed them with green verdigris embossing powder).
