Last Outing....

of the summer holidays. The boys and I went over to the Isle of Cumbrae today to visit my lovely friends Cathy (who is on her summer hols with her family) and Ali

We all had a great day - the kids all got on like a house on fire and Dave did a sterling job entertaining them.  The boys are now desperate to go back to Ali's Island :)

I was asked to do a wedding card recently which had the names of the happy couple on it. I'm never very sure of wedding cards as I'm not sure a stamped image is the best way forward for them but this is what I came up with. Once I'd done it I decided it needed a spot of stamping so I used a sentiment from a Little Yellow Bicycle set.

The wedding was on Saturday so I'm sure that by now the happy couple will have it and that it's safe to post!

Stamp - Little Yellow Bicycle
Cardstock/Paper - From Stash
Embellishments - From stash
Tools - Label Nesties, Big Shot

Packing Up

It's almost over... the Olympics that is! Do you know, I'm really going to miss it. It's been a fabulous fortnight of sport and I have loved every minute of what I have watched (and I have to be honest, there isn't a lot that I haven't watched).

As I write Team GB has just won it's 29th Gold Medal thanks to Anthony Joshua in the Boxing. Absolutely fabulous.  And if the vision of this Olympics was to inspire a future generation then I think I can say they've certainly inspired our boys! Scott, in particular, just wants to do everything and who are we to stand in his way.

Now, I had thought about doing a card like this for the start of the Olympics but it somehow seems better to be doing it now after a fabulous performance by Team GB.

Challenges I'd like to enter:

Cupcake Craft - Bunting
Ladybug Crafts Ink - Summer Fun
Craft Your Days Away - Olympic Dreams
Saturday Challenge - Gold, Silver or Bronze (she's wearing a Gold Medal!)

Stamps
Olympics - Saturated Canary coloured with Promarkers
Bunting Stamp from Party This Way set, Stampin Up
Letters - Penny Black
Cardstock/Paper - Stampin Up
Embellishments - Ribbon from stash (think it might have come from a chocolate medal!), pearls from stash

Thanks for dropping by today.

Sweet Stampin' Challenge

Morning all it's time for a new challenge over at Sweet Stampin' and this week our theme is

Things With Wings

Our sponsors this week are Lili of the Valley who are offering a £10 voucher to the winner and Joanna Sheen, our monthly sponsor are also offering a £10 voucher to the monthly winner.

And just to be me I thought I'd be a bit different.... I was going to use a LotV fairy, or the LotV boy with the aeroplane but then I saw this image at Simply Betty and fell in love with him. I particularly like the tongue sticking out because he is clearly concentrating. I do this and it's a trait that the boys seem to have developed too.

Cass will tell you how much fun I had making this card on Thursday night over at the Crafty Cabin. I kept giggling as I was doing it, I had so much fun. I've paper pieced his box using Kraft card and just to give it an authentic stuck together look I used some Washi Tape too :)

Challenges I'd like to enter:

Crafty Catz - Anything Goes
Here Come The Boys - Boys Toys
That Craft Place - Things With Wings
Papercrafting Journey - Anything Goes
Creative Inspirations - Anything Goes
Crafts and Me - Use a Digi

Image - Pwew Pwew Pwew Jude, Simply Betty coloured with Promarkers and Copics

Totally Papercrafts Challenge

Oh dear, oh dear *shakes head* I really do need to read instructions properly before making a DT card....

It's time for a new challenge over at Totally Papercrafts and this time Diane has chosen the theme (it's her first time so be gentle with her!). This week we want you to

Frame It

(add a frame around your image)

The more observant amongst you will notice that there isn't, in fact, a frame around my image.... but.... the bears are holding frames... yeah, I know, go to the naughty step for not reading instructions properly.

We are sponsored this week by Stamp and Create and by a new sponsor to us Dilly Beans images!

No new products were harmed in the making of this card! Use It Up 2012.

Stamps -
Penny Black Bears coloured with Promarkers
Alphabet, Penny Black
Birthday sentiment, Stampin Up
Cardstock/Paper - From stash

Remember to pop over to Totally Papercrafts to see if the rest of the DT followed the instructions correctly (I'll give you a hint, they did....)

Thanks for dropping by today. Have a good Friday whatever you're up to.

Oh I'm getting old...

Maybe one day I will look back and laugh but.....

The other day I was asked to make a 16th birthday card which had Drake on it. No, I've no clue who he is either, but I figured a duck wasn't going to feature on the card.

So I Googled some images, found one and printed it off and created this card. All well? Well, no. After the card had been handed over I emailed a photo of it to my friend Lorraine and said, "here's the Usher card" (no, I have no clue who he is either)... she emailed me back and said "you said it was Drake"......

The air was blue can I tell you! I text in a panic but was assured the birthday girl liked Usher too. I have seen a photo of her holding the card and she did look very happy (although they did actually manage to get a photo of Drake and put it on the card)

Now, where did I get Usher from?!? Answers on a postcard please!

Life on the Edge

of my seat!  Been watching the Showjumping this afternoon. Team GB were in a jump off against the Netherlands and they came out on top!! Fantastic, another gold.

I should be fit by the end of these Olympics, all these different sports ;)

Oh and just as a wee aside, we watched the 100m final last night and once it was finished Scott declared that he was going to have Usain Bolt's record.... So, the Olympics 2024 then? I should add that yesterday morning he was going to be a hurdler.

On to today's card - this is a card I did for my friend's niece. He requested auburn hair and after consultation with my lovely friend Cathy this is what I came up with. He declared it was perfect and said that I had surpassed myself with the card. Another happy customer, so I'm very happy too.

There's No Place Like Home

I am multi-tasking here. I am blogging and watching the Olympics. As I write, we've won gold thanks to Jess Ennis and Greg Rutherford and am just watching Mo Farah in the 10K. Come on Mo!!!!

Made this card for my friend who has just moved into her new place. Unfortunately her son and Scott have no clue who this lady is.... and then when I told Andy he said "who was it supposed to be"... I kinda thought the sentiment and the ruby slippers were a give away. But there you go.

Deja vu?

This is just a quick post - I am mid making dinner and getting ready to go to the Crafty Cabin for my regular crafty night!

Recognise this card?! It's almost the same as one I used on the Pink and Black challenge over at Creative Craft Challenges. I always post my cards over on my Facebook page and one of my friends saw it and wanted one for her daughter so managed to do this when I came back my holidays.
